What does /pol/ think of this movie?
I finally watched it and it left me in confusion. There was so much jumping time. Wasn't kyle at different places per tour? Then why was the kebab sniper always where he came trhough. Gosh what a ending. He comes back and a faggot veteran shoots him. I know it is true but why has he done that? Too many things were left out.

An honest movie on Pat Tillman would have been God tier but Kyle was both a habitual liar and a perfect example of the perfect neocon propaganda idol.

Not too many people want to see a movie about a hero killed by friendly fire.

"Friendly fire"

Frustrating to watch because I feel bad for the wife who so desperately just wants him to stay home, be a family man, but he's just completely tunnel-visioned into settling a score. I can understand why he felt compelled, but it just at times seemed like he only cared about his own vendetta.
But when you're as good as he was, it's hard not to stick with it. I don't know, he just felt like an asshole sometimes and it was hard to root for him until he was actually sniping.

Well one of the first things he said to her was that he is a seal, so she should know what can happen.
I think the movie presented him annoying for normal people.
>Oh look the kid dropped the rpg so he is a hero.
>Yeah let's name him legend every 2 minutes and let him talk it off cool how he is.
Let's get real. Noone would gives a flying fuck if he doesn't touch the trigger.

Honestly meh. I like Clint Eastwood, but not as a director. His movies just seem the aimlessly follow someone's life.

I did think it was a good movie, but it does a disservice to the viewer by misrepresenting facts about Kyle's life in order to make him into a more conventional American hero. Also, if a person theoretically watched it without understanding that Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11, they could leave the theater with the idea that 9/11 and the Iraq war were causally linked, because this is what the movie implies for the sake of plot simplicity.
My biggest gripe about the movie, though, is that they erase an entire important chapter from Kyle's life: the part where he wrote books around himself and paraded around the country being famous. My impression of Kyle, based on interviews I've seen of him, is that he was something of a megalomaniac. The movie portrays him as humble and selfless, just as it portrays all his Iraq kills as born of necessity. Overall, it was a well-directed, well-acted movie that deserves the praise it got, but it doesn't reflect reality. It's more like neocon propaganda.

Bullshit plot device to give him a nemesis. The kebab sniper is supposed to be a composite of the "Juba sniper" propaganda character.
