I was in Montreal with my girlfriend last New Years and we ordered some drinks. In Ontario I usually leave a nice tip when I buy my last drinks of the night. I don't drink often (few times a year) so when I do I feel it's fine to tip big especially if the people are nice.
So we order drinks and the guy gives them to us and hands me cash. I put it in my pocket and he walks away. Like 15 minutes later I go back up and order more, and he brings them over but this time he put the change on the bar. I grabbed it and he yelled in front of everyone there
"You know that tip isn't included right?" and walked off.
Anyway next time I went up I waited for a good 10 minutes and he refused to even look over at me. I was going to give him a $40 tip because it was New Years and I like to give the benefit of the doubt.
So the other bartender (a girl) finally comes over and takes my order. Goes and gets the drinks and while she is pouring the guy comes up and whispers something in her ear and she looks over at me. She comes by and I handed her $60. I told her to show him what happens when you don't act like a shithead. She had a good laugh and told me he wasn't well liked at all there.
Fuck people who make a stupid scene like that over a few dollars in tips.

Why do a lot of servers act entitled to tips anyways? People act like its a hard job and while it seems like its a lot of work during actual shifts, you aren't paid for how hard you work, you are paid for your level of skill. Anyone with an ounce of charisma and the ability to put in work can probably handle a job in waiting. For an actually decent paying job, it usually takes time to develop specialist skills that a limited number of other people possess, but a larger group of people find great value in.
