Age of consent is not about love, or sex. The ability to consent to sex is a by-product of the concept, but it is not the original intention.
This is basically how you tell who is a pedophile, and who actually advocates for child rights.
The core of the issue is consent. That is to say, the ability to consent to a legal contract/form legal contracts. During the early 1900s, this is what we had. Children were their own legal agents and not property of their parents/the state. A child could stop being a child and instead be a young adult as young as 10 years old. Did this mean people went out and dated/fucked 10 year olds? No. It means 10 year olds went out, got jobs, owned property, and started their adult life 8 years 'early'.
In a free society, children should be able to have that kind of consent. Children should be able to get jobs, do work, own property and businesses if they so desire. But they cant, and the state doesnt want them to, because the age of consent basically is what makes it legal to force your children to go to school. The original push for age of consent was to outlaw child labor: read non-unionized young adult laborers. It was first pushed by socialist/unionist because most scabs were composed of young people who just wanted a job. It was also advocated by suffragettes because they didnt like the idea of their husbands working with young girls for obvious reasons.
It was ultimately supported by the state because it temporarily gives the state extra-authority over its citizens for an extended portion of their life. That is the heart of the issue of consent and so called child agency. But when a pedophile talks about it, they instead focus exclusively on the sexual aspects of it. They can't be sincere because they are fucking deviants. And the more outspoken ones are almost always women because they can use regular sjw rhetoric to shield themselves from criticism. Unsurprisingly, the majority of child abusers are women.
