I think the issue isn't so much whether or not the alt-right is white supremacist as what exactly white supremacism is in the first place.
The alt-right most certainly believes that white countries are for white people, and that white culture has objective value. I'm pretty sure aside from a tiny minority though we don't actually advocate full on genocide of brown people, which is the pop-cultural view of white supremacy.
So when Milo says we're not white supremacists he's absolutely right as most of us are not the Jewish caricature of white supremacy. People need to realize it's possible to be racist and not actually hate people or be motivated by spite, and often times racism is motivated by of the desire to help inferior races. The missionaries of the Victorian era were certainly racist but they still were willing to die to save the lives and souls of people they viewed as racially inferior.
