One of the things I found surprising is how active /pol/ is. I'm a fairly recent immigrant.
I think people come in because /pol/ is THE place to discuss politically incorrect opinions. A need becoming greater as the situation in Europe progresses.
In essence, /pol/ just might be the modern variant of the 19th century coffeeshop, where people with too much time on their hands came to discuss political theory. Essentially, we do the same. We exchange ideas, we discuss what we consider wrong and how to fix it, and we reaffirm that we are not alone in our desires. We even organize activity that spreads our message beyond these boards. Tay.AI is just one example of this.
/pol/ shared the /b/ quality of being a place that creates memes. We are plugged directly into the political consciousness of the world. Something the elite finds to be very uncomfortable. But ironically, we represent their greatest ideals: Here, I discuss freely with burgerfats, squatting slavs, spics, cheese eating surrender monkeys, even roaches! We represent their wishes: A united world.

Do you think /pol/ will be split?
Unlike /b/ this board is meant for some discussion and if it gets too fast it might become difficult. At this moment threads die after approximately 30 minutes compared to one hour one year ago. Sometimes it takes a bit of time before interesting threads gain momentum and might soon be washed away because of the board being too fast for them.
/pol/ started getting shit after there was that period where there was no chptcha and we were thrown under the bus of spam, back when we were a libertarian board and not trumpfags. You still get quality posts, mostly from libertarian bros, but you can see /b/ leaking on here, as evident by this thread
