I like that. I would add that a great flag is also considered to be aesthetically pleasing, at least by most people.
the french flag and all the other "three stripe" flags are ok in general, but too dull for me. the scandinavian "cross" flags are a bit better, especially the ones that have a border around the cross, instead of a simple two-color design.
the american flag is a bit too busy. flags with text are usually a big mistake.
i'm not a huge fan of israel, but they have a nice looking flag, as does canada. the nazi flag was well designed.
pic related is about as ugly as flags get, colorwise, and the overall design does not appeal to me either.
God I hate Brazil's flag. We could ate least get rid of the stars and the words....
