All these maps have Czech, Hungary and sometimes Slovakia just sitting in the middle of Europe, tiny and landlocked. They're not financial hubs or neutral zones, they're pretty much impotent in the grand scheme. Yet the genepools and legacies of these peoples are clearly worth preserving.
Would some kind of union between Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia, for example, be feasible? I'd suggest some kind of Carpathian empire, but I think Romanians are as significant (inb4 gypsies).
