We also have the highest quality healthcare. and the studies DO show the same paid through taxes. Considering the average middle class American will spend a total of $152,308.84 between age 21 (average age of career entrance) and 63 (average retirement age) and will spend a total of $184,523.77 in taxes (assuming taxes aren't raised further to pay for the 14 trillion dollar debt increase that comes from his healthcare plan alone) you will spend far more through Bernie for healthcare and ed than you would under Obamacare which raised healthcare costs by AT LEAT 300% for most people. Why do liberals make up arbitrary definitions of commonly used words in their heads? That's not remotely true, stop framing the world in absolutes. It makes you look like a five year old. You don't care what people want, you care what your people want.

That's exactly what you're doing. You're ignoring everything about the country where it works, as if universal healthcare is this isolated system that can be implemented anywhere at anytime and will only have positive effects.

Again, look at Brazil's healthcare system. Why doesn't it work in Brazil, but works in Norway?

Why could Scandinavian countries afford healthcare, but not Bolivia?

Why does Japan have extremely low violent crime rates compared to Britain, despite practicing nearly identical weapon restriction laws?

Why could Gadaffi's Libya afford to provide newly wed couples a free apartment, but we can't make Social Security solvent?

The Bernies believe that the hard workers will continue to foot the bill, no matter how high taxes are raised. Raising taxes gives a lesser incentive to work harder to earn more.

The union concept is the same:

There is no reward for working harder. However there is a reward for not working as hard.

That's what conservatism is, "less government". You think that it is inherently corrupt so you want to get rid of as much as possible. Do you really have to have me go through this? You couldn't get that on your own? You are framing "BIG GOVERNMENT" as not being able to POSSIBLY be representative of the people. Holy fuck, could have just asked Socrates a couple fucking centuries ago if you wanted an answer. Again, you don't CARE what they want. You think they want the same that you do, but when they disagree we get antifa breaking into homes and threatening lives.

You don't know me at all. I'm perfectly happy with strong, centralized governments. Hitler did wonders for Germany before the war.

No, I'm framing BIG GOVERNMENT as BIG. If you think said government is CORRUPT, then giving the CORRUPT GOVERNMENT MORE POWER WOULD BE BAD.

BAD PEOPLE WITH MORE POWER = MORE BAD.

BAD + POWER = BADDER.

If an entire population is happy with a system that leads to an economic collapse that ruins billions of lives, that doesn't mean the system is good. A lot of people were happy with the financial market back in 06. Consumer confidence was at an all time high. The real estate industry was worshiped in earlier years for carrying the American economy on its back.

>assuming that businesses will magically cut peoples contracted wages to force the employee to pay for the tax

For what it's worth, the Congressional Budget Office last year said the tax would bring in less revenue — $80 billion instead of $137 billion over the decade — because of lower health spending and changes in the employer-sponsored insurance market. So it indicates some employers will pay the tax and pass the cost onto workers.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2014/11/20/how-businesses-are-planning-for-obamacares-cadillac-tax/

Most economists now agree that the burden of the corporate income tax falls on labor to some extent, but there is disagreement over the degree. This is important because the political prospects for cutting the statutory corporate tax rate, a goal shared by all tax reformers, may depend on the extent to which it can be shown that workers will benefit.

do imagine a world where everyone is called in for a company wide meeting and the CEO announces "Whelp, the Bernie payroll tax just got enacted, so everyone here is immediately getting a 6% slash to your salaries. Contracts be damned". You clearly don't understand how businesses function

More likely large companies would make layoffs, resulting in a short term spike in unemployment. They also list entry level positions with lower wages, but they can only lower them so far without losing their ability to be competitive.

If you think that any major business is going to suddenly drop their initial offers by that much and risk losing talent/workforce to businesses that actually account for shifts in operating costs, then you should probably just stick to shitposting on a Maldovan smelting board

>FDR

It never ends.

Let's start with the New Deal. Its various alphabet-soup agencies—the WPA, AAA, NRA and even the TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority)—failed to create sustainable jobs. In May 1939, U.S. unemployment still exceeded 20%. European countries, according to a League of Nations survey, averaged only about 12% in 1938. The New Deal, by forcing taxes up and discouraging entrepreneurs from investing, probably did more harm than good.

What about World War II? We need to understand that the near-full employment during the conflict was temporary. Ten million to 12 million soldiers overseas and another 10 million to 15 million people making tanks, bullets and war materiel do not a lasting recovery make. The country essentially traded temporary jobs for a skyrocketing national debt. Many of those jobs had little or no value after the war.

Read the rest of the article to see what the government did after that cripple faggot died to fix the economy. Slash taxes across the board sums it up nicely though.

>No, not impossible, just difficult
Your own logic says otherwise.
If the govt is owned by the elites, no matter how much they humor your first amendment right, they will never give into change. They will just keep jerking you off to keep you from an armed revolution.
>And change occurs from the bottom up.
Again, by your logic, the current situation we find ourselves in is a result of bottom up change.
>If people demand it, then it will happen.
I've been demanding a Ferrari for years. I still don't have one.
>It does not have to be violent either.
In fact it does, otherwise nothing happens. Look at the history of the country you live in. Did it come to a nation peacefully or was there a war that brought it about?
>>
>>69312062
You do realize that we have an additional tax bracket under Obama that didn't exist under Bush right?
>>
>>69304848
And? Get off your ass and make something of your life, the government isn't going to fix that for you, nor is it the role of the government to fix it for you.

I want an answer to this. Surely you're not so fucking ignorant of history that you think Spain, Greece, Argentina, and Brazil were socialist dictatorships or something.

>You get your paycheck and notice that more taxes are taken out of it

you don't get it, the payroll tax proposed by the Sanders campaign is a tax placed upon employers, not employees, it would never show up on your paycheck. Unless of course you're just so stupid that you would think its legal to literally transfer your taxes onto someone you are compensating.

YOU FUCKING MORON.

THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT FUCKING HAPPENS.

For what it's worth, the Congressional Budget Office last year said the tax would bring in less revenue — $80 billion instead of $137 billion over the decade — because of lower health spending and changes in the employer-sponsored insurance market. So it indicates some employers will pay the tax and pass the cost onto workers.

Most economists now agree that the burden of the corporate income tax falls on labor to some extent, but there is disagreement over the degree.

The Wall Street Journal is completely unbiased and has no conflict of interest when discussing tax breaks for the economically elite.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/23/business/23view.html

http://newsroom.ucla.edu/releases/FDR-s-Policies-Prolonged-Depression-5409

wo UCLA economists say they have figured out why the Great Depression dragged on for almost 15 years, and they blame a suspect previously thought to be beyond reproach: President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

After scrutinizing Roosevelt's record for four years, Harold L. Cole and Lee E. Ohanian conclude in a new study that New Deal policies signed into law 71 years ago thwarted economic recovery for seven long years.

In the three years following the implementation of Roosevelt's policies, wages in 11 key industries averaged 25 percent higher than they otherwise would have done, the economists calculate. But unemployment was also 25 percent higher than it should have been, given gains in productivity.

Meanwhile, prices across 19 industries averaged 23 percent above where they should have been, given the state of the economy. With goods and services that much harder for consumers to afford, demand stalled and the gross national product floundered at 27 percent below where it otherwise might have been.

>and yes because he was rich, he had more a voice than the average person. Big deal.
That is a huge deal. This is supposed to be a democracy, where 1 person = 1 vote. Each person should have the same amount of influence. You are brushing that off as "not a big deal" is fucking absurd.
>>

> Representing people

Donald Trump only represents himself.

Income inequality is at an all time high, rising every day, childhood poverty is outrageous, but sure, whatever you say, it does work.
>>
>>69312860
>Each person should have the same amount of influence
That's not what a democracy is. 1 vote =/= 1 influence unit or whatever fucking lunacy you think the world works under.

Bill Clinton has far more influence on the political system than yours. So does an expert economist revered by academia. So does a fucking British faggot on HBO.
>>
>>69312860
We all know that's not how it works in reality. The press, money, etc. all greatly influence politics. Sure there should be some limits on it (and there used to be). I can agree with that much, but criticizing Trump for his campaign contributions is silly.

Are you going to answer >>69312290?

You do realize that the rich pay the majority of the taxes right? Instead of your supply side boogieman, why don't you explain how taxing everyone more (those are Bernie's proposals) would lead to a better economy even though projections say the exact opposite?

>the current situation we find ourselves in is a result of bottom up change.

Fucking what? Holy fuck you are stupid and incapable of comprehending anything. No, it's a result of a LACK of bottom up change. From voter disenfranchisement and low voter turnout.

>I've been demanding a Ferrari for years. I still don't have one.

Demanding who? You are really misinterpreting everything. You demanding a product is vastly different than millions of people demanding changes in a system.
>In fact it does, otherwise nothing happens.

Civil Rights non-violent protests.

>Fucking what? Holy fuck you are stupid and incapable of comprehending anything. No, it's a result of a LACK of bottom up change. From voter disenfranchisement and low voter turnout.
read what you wrote
>And change occurs from the bottom up.
You are implying that change can only occur from the bottom up, meaning that the current situation is a result in bottom up change, because you clearly stated that change occurs from the bottom up.

>You are really misinterpreting everything.
I could say the same for you, kiddo. It's like I'm talking to someone the intellectual capacity of a toddler

>Civil Rights non-violent protests.

Boogieman? Try harder. Look at the income inequality. Giving tax breaks to the top does not create jobs. The middle class creates jobs.

>why don't you explain how taxing everyone more

Because other countries, and our history have done it for you already? It's not just "increasing taxes", it's universal healthcare which would save the vast majority of Americans thousands. And giving the velocity of money back to the middle class, because, you know, they actually spend their money and put it back into the economy.
>>
>>69313766
Where did I imply that change can ONLY occur from the bottom up? Are you daft? The elites changed it to benefit them because they had the power and influence to, because of a LACK of input via disenfranchisement from the majority.

I don't see how copying the same thing you posted before supports the notion that employers can literally pass the tax itself onto employees as a garnishment on your paycheck. That's not how that works.

This is done indirectly, by offering lower wages to new employees or hiring less people. I think you don't understand what the tax is, or how it works in comparison to an income tax.
>>
>>69313137

>And change occurs from the bottom up
You are implying that change can only occur from the bottom up. I swear we've been through this. It sounds like you meant change occurs in both directions.
>The elites changed it to benefit them because they had the power and influence to
If that is true, then the best way to fix the current problem is to make a few billion dollars in real estate, run for president, don't take any contributions for your campaign, and when you get elected, you could make america great again. Where have I heard that before?
>>
wouldnt cucks vote for hillary? honest question familia
>>
>>69314341
>You are implying that change can only occur from the bottom up
Except I'm fucking not. Where do you see the word "only"? Change can occur from within, and from the bottom up. And obviously the change from within is not going to be sufficient, that's the entire fucking premise of the argument.
>If that is true, then the best way to fix the current problem is to make a few billion dollars in real estate, run for president, don't take any contributions for your campaign, and when you get elected, you could make america great again. Where have I heard that before?

You seem to fucking think the president is a dictator with unlimited power. Go fucking figure. The president isn't the only political entity, there's hundreds. Electing one isn't going to fix problems that those hundreds of political entities don't recognize as a problem. That's the fucking point of me saying that change should occur from the bottom up.
>>
>>69314240
No, you are confusing influence with a single vote. Trump didn't get more votes than you because of his net worth. He used his influence to affect the political system. Anyone with sufficient influence can do this. This exists in any form of government. Name one where individuals can't influence politics outside of literally voting.

>>69314107
>If they don't pass the tax directly onto you, that doesn't mean you bear the burden lol
You are so fucking dense.

>by offering lower wages to new employees or hiring less people
No, they also cut benefits, reduce bonuses, and restrict potential raises too. Nice to see that you don't care about college students trying to enter the labor market though. Who cares if they get hit the hardest because of these taxes right?

"elites changed it to benefit them"

lol no the elites haven't changed shit, they've just given the poor more appeasements to keep them from tearing the walls down and hanging them in the streets.

The only difference now is that they're bartering with "education" and healthcare rather than things like food or the ability to hunt and forage or cultivate on their land.
