Redpill me on Salmon

Every article I encounter is 100% contrary to the other, I need /pol/'s discerning wisdom on this

doctors say
>most sustainable fish in US, farmed in a way that doesn't hurt population, and is easy for fisheries to keep track of spawning population since the same numbers that leave, return every year
>35x less mercury content than Tuna, safe to eat everyday
>clean healthy cheap form of high protein and good cholesterol
>same protein and Omega 3 as tuna, heart healthy
>similar price as tuna
>slight risk to pregnant mothers/small children because of miniscule micro-mercury build up that wouldn't affect normal adults

PETA fags say
>fish are smart
>killing fish is mean
>did you know fish suffer at fisheries because of overcrowding? rude
>has PCBs and other cancer causing chemicals/dioxins
>farming salmon is unsustainable! it steals fish from the bears!
>Omega 3 and heart healthy cholesterol is a myth
>Salmon and all fish in general will give you type 2 diabetes

What's the truth here /pol/, I need this redpill more than ever. I realize the PETA fags sound absolutely retarded at first glance, but I've been wrong before.

poses unacceptable health risk if you eat more than one 8 oz serving per month and that's per massaged government data. Yes farm raised Salmon is so good for you if you want to end up in an early grave.

Used to work at a fish processing place when teen young adult, farm raised salmon are so fucked up genetically they're always mutated and have open sores and shit all over them and nubs for fins from the concrete races they are raised in. Fed color pellets to make the meat look nicer for finishing before harvested. Filled with chemicals and the government themselves admit more than 1 serving per month 6-8oz represents an acceptable health risk

Nah there has to be at least 1-2 people on /pol/ that will discuss this

/fit/ is full of retards, I will not go there

>unacceptable health risk if you eat more than one 8 oz serving per month

Why would they say there is no risk and you should eat it 3 times a week, if just 2 cans is "unacceptable risk"

Not even the PETA fags claim this

been known for years farmed raised salmon isn't healthy. Wild salmon isn't bad but it's usually what was once considered trash fish such as dog salmon that they instead market as Alaskan Keta salmon now.

Cheaper? Same protein content?

What about Omega 3, just take supplements?
>>
>>69246703
How recent is this data though? Every video/link I find is 8 years old.

If the problem is only how they're raised, and not a nutritional problem, why wouldn't I believe they have improved their processes over time to combat this negative image.

Surely a mega fishing industry would respond to negative criticisms and improve conditions. This still doesn't address it's nutritional value.
>>
>>69247335
believe what ever you want, it's raised as cheap as possible in the nastiest conditions imaginable it's not about good nutrition it's about how much fish can be reared per pen and thus how much money can be made.
>>
>>69245675
if you have more than 2 tins of tuna a day you will get accumulated chronic mercury poisoning

Salmon is great, but expensive

Chicken breast

+ Cod liver oil
+ Omega 3 fish oil
>>
>>69245561
Farm raised salmon are fed corn. Think about that for a moment.
>>

Eat fish on Friday, vary the type of fish you eat. Done.
>>

Salmon are predatory fish. Salmon eat other fish. All the pollution from water will end up in salmons. Salmons' fat has high concentration of pollutants. Have fun with your gyno and shriveling testicles when eating salmon laced with hefty doses of hormones and pollutants.

Salmon used to be top 5 source of protein and fats, now it is trash.
