I don't want either, but if a smug fuck who is using every underhanded trick in the book to try and pull out a "win," who has never worked a real job in his life, and has that many sordid connections, as well as the undeclared loans... if someone with all that manages to take the Republican nominee, then they obviously have no interest in stopping the socialist trend (obvious through the latest Omnibus bill). Did you know about the 2008 Senate resolution declaring John McCain a Natural Born Citizen to prevent a challenge over his birth at Ramstein AFB in Germany?

It's the best precedent that's actually law. Maybe you could check the wording and come up with a legal argument instead of posting like a retard?

Nope, Nope, and NOPE! If any of that were true, the Senate wouldn't have had a vote on in 2008 to settle the issue about John McCain being a Natural Born Citizen.

>>69202070
Bases and Embassies aren't actually US territory. That's more of a convenient legal explanation of their status. Bonus: Barry Goldwater wasn't born in the US. He was born in Arizona when it was still a US territory. That fight went to the Supreme Court. He lost, so the SC never ruled on it.

>>69201779
I'll be damned. I did have that wrong. Can't think why I thought it was Ramstein. Anyway, doesn't matter.

>>69202070
Prior to 2008 John McCain was not technically a Natural Born Citizen. SRes 511 changed that. And narrowly. It doesn't automatically extend it to any other children born on bases overseas.

>I don’t know the answer to that,” McCain answered on KFY 1550’s Chris Merrill Show about Cruz’s ability to be president. “I know it came up in my race because I was born in Panama, but I was born in the Canal Zone which is a territory. Barry Goldwater was born in Arizona when it was a territory when he ran in 1964.”

>“Yeah, it was a U.S. military base,” McCain added about himself. “That’s different from being born on foreign soil so I think there is a question. I am not a Constitutional scholar on that, but I think it’s worth looking into. I don’t think it’s illegitimate to look into it.”
>>
Cruz is probably going to win Wisconsin lads. The last polls favouring Trump were done over a month ago when Rubio was still in the race. It looks like El Rato has picked up enough of FoamBoy's voters to push him just over the Trump line. I wish it weren't so, but it is. Anchor babies got foisted on us by a single crazy Supreme Court Judge in 1982. Since then it's been a political football. Democrats like the new illegals who can use family reunification to stay here with their anchor babies so they've fought like hell to preserve that loophole.

We're only on our 44th President. This shit hasn't come up a lot. The first 17 Presidents were all born in one of the 13 original colonies. (Grant #18 was born in Ohio)

>>69203458
I only meant there was no difference between PCZ, and Ramstein in my argument. You're still wrong though. The canal zone was US controlled, not US territory.

And neither matters. People born in the canal zone, on Puerto Rico, or on overseas military bases are not necessarily natural born citizens. See the fucking Senate Resolution I linked.

Sr 511 might be seen as extending Natural Born Citizen to anyone born on overseas military bases, but it doesn't do so explicitly. It just covers John McCain.

The SC never ruled on Barry Goldwater, so the status on any in the territories is still nebulous.

I am not arguing that Cruz is a natural born citizen, if that's the reason you keep making obtuse replies. Cruz is way, way outside the commonly (and incorrectly) assumed limits of Natural Born Citizen.

This. McCain's dad wasn't Panama citizen living with an american citizen in Panama. Cruz's dad was a Canadian living in Canada. Cruz even had Canadian citizenship. He is literally a dual citizenship guy running for an office that specifically wants a US born person to be in that office. I would even get if he was born in Canada by the US parents while on vacation, and even that is stretching it. But he literally lived in Canada with his Canadian dad. If he had any integrity, he wouldn't even run for POTUS. That's a violation of the spirit of the requirement to be a natural born US citizen. He is really a Canadian who had dual citizenship and moved to the US. Nothing is wrong with that, but that's not POTUS material. His behavior in general is unpresidential.

I just have a feeling that Kasich was supposed to be Yeb VP to deliver Ohio, and Rubio and Cruz were fluffers for Yeb. It all spiraled out of control, so contained opposition like Cruz is still in the race with no hopes of ever even being taken seriously in the general election. Someone just decided to pull a plug on him because he will be an even bigger embarrassment than Trump.
>>
>>69200010
But kasich is funded by soros anon.

>>
>>69205525
Kinda fucking doesn't. The only reason John McCain didn't get his eligibility challenged was Senate Resolution 511.

I've already written extensively about this in this thread, in the line of replies you just jumped into without knowing shit.
>>
>>69206076
The law is not set in stone. The situation is objectively different with McCain. This is the dual citizenship case, and just because you refuse to see it as such doesn't make it so. Cruz had dual citizenship, and dropping one doesn't make one eligible to be POTUS. The spirit of the law was that POTUS implies that POTUS would be US citizen exclusively, and Cruz was a Canadian citizen before he dropped it. The issue is not at all like McCains. You are trying to make it similar to McCain's.
>>
>>69205079
I will, just so we can go socialist, crash, and go back to capitalism.
>>
>>69206723
You're focusing on the absolutely least important thing I can think of in Cruz's case.

Dual Citizenship doesn't mean shit. The fact at issue is that Cruz wasn't born inside the United States. Exactly the same issue Barry Goldwater, and John McCain had and that George Romney would have had.

If Cruz had been born in the US, he'd have still had dual citizenship and it wouldn't have mattered at all.

Again, you've hopped in well down a set of replies and I'm not retyping shit. Scroll up and read up. You're another retard arguing with me because you're so asshurt on this issue. I am not arguing in support of Cruz. I'm discussing the ACTUAL FUCKING LAWS AND PRECEDENTS.

Cruz isn't a natural born citizen. His case is worse than the case John McCain, but probably better than Barry Goldwater's. The Senate can end this issue instantly, just like they did in 2008.

They won't do so until Cruz is the actually nominee though. Especially given how much he's pissed off Mitch McConnell. He's lucky McConnell is a much better politician than him or he'd need to fear McConnell pushing a resolution that disqualified him.

>>69207479
He straight up violates the reason for the requirement to be a natural born citizen. They wanted the president to be free form foreign influence, thus only hold fealty to the US. Cruz literally was a Canadian citizen. With him the issue is not the place of birth, but he is in direct violation of the spirit of the that particular rule. He also violates the letter of that law too. McCain was not a citizen of Panama. He was Canadian citizen, so he is not free from Canadian influence. I'm not a lawyer, but your approach is focused on the actual place where he was born. I noticed lawyers are very narrow minded. I'm sure his Canadian citizenship violates the spirit of the law, thus there are technicalities that have nothing to do with an actual place of his birth that he violated as well. The laws are consistent, so skirting some technicality in one place leaves another technicality somewhere else. I've talked to lawyers, you guys are narrow minded, and can't win shit for the most part unless you know the judge.
>>
>>69207479
I actually thought about it, in essence doing your job.

He is a Senator. He had to get rid of his Canadian citizenship before he became the Senator to fulfill the requirement that probably disqualified him from becoming POTUS. In math there are ad absurdum proofs. I don't know if in legal logic you can do that, but you can't find any requirement for POTUS what to do with his other citizenship. You know why? Because he was supposed to be natural born citizen and the issue is not covered for POTUS because the person with that problem would be disqualified. Him meeting the criteria to become Senator essentially disqualifies him from becoming POTUS. I'm sure that in cases similar to his to become Senators there is an explicit bucketing of him into non natural born citizen or something along those lines. The absence of what to do with your other citizenship for POTUS should immediately make it clear that he is unqalified for the job, because there is a process of what to do in similar situation for a Senator. I'm sure some lawyer can frame it in legal speak.
