It depends what kind of restaurant it is. If it's fastfood, of course we don't tip.
But in other restaurants we always tip.
French people tip equally much to Americans, while Germans are really mostly tipping only 5%, but that's a thing even french people are mad about.

Taxes are higher here, and salaries better for people working at cafés and stuff.
But we do tip, at least when we are at real restaurants.
Because waitors dont rely on it here. They get enough money to live without tips. Personally, if I go eat in a nice restaurant and my meal was prepared well and the staff was nice i leave a bigger tip.
