Hey /pol/ I just had a debate with a liberal ( immigrated from Europe) and basically how they feel about free education, open borders, and free healthcare, is basically "muh feelings"

How do you even combat liberal logic?

Trump only talks about defense.

Build a wall, ban them, ban that.

This is a serious sign of nation in decline.

No offensive game at all.

Ask why he left Europe for a country which has less of all of those.
>>
>>69156638

she left France to become a teacher.
>>
>>69157084
Why didn't she want to be a teacher in France?
>>
you dont. you don't even waste time arguing with them. Pointless and it's not like they had a hope to begin with if they fell for the "GLOBAL KINDNESS :D" bullshit.

you need to rise to the top and become the opposition. It's the only way. those libcucks are the symptoms, you don't wanna cure the symptom.

Idk anon, maybe she wanted to teach french to US students.

Ask her what appealed to her about teaching in the US when she could've just as well taught in France. Force her to provide logic to her decisions and show her how that logic opposes her feelings.

Separate your discussion, I would note that although the US has less "free" education, less open borders, and less "free" healthcare, we still have significant amounts of each.

Education: K-12 is entirely free. As for college, low income students get government grants. Middle income students get government loans with no serious obligation to pay them back. We have the Higher Education Act of 1965, the Middle Income Student Assistance Act of 1978, Pell Grants, Stafford Loans, Sallie Mae, numerous government funded scholarships, and so on. College is largely government funded.

Open borders: The current President provides deferred action to as many people who came here illegally or continue to stay here illegally as possible. Hundreds of large cities are considered "sanctuary cities" which practice nullification every day by refusing to report people here illegally discovered during their interactions with local government. Something being illegal is a minor detail when the law is not enforced.

Health care: The government currently provides health insurance in the form of Medicare to roughly 17% of the US population (over 50 million people) and Medicaid to over 30 million children. Medicare and Medicaid spending comprise 44% of all health care spending in the US last I checked. It also provides the EMTALA, which guarantees all people get health care if they go to a hospital which accepts Medicare or Medicaid, which is virtually all hospitals, regardless of their ability to pay the bills.

The situation in the US is far worse than most people realize.

If somebody would prefer to live in a society with open borders, free education, and free healthcare as an ideal it's pretty much impossible convincing them that right wing views are correct. Those are ends in themselves, and from the left-wingers view, if you can do it now why wait?

What you have to do first is show how sound fiscal economic policy can lead to more money to implement social policies. You have to understand leftists think tax + spend = better economy because everybody is more educated and healthy :D. If you can drag them to center-left and get them to agree the right-wing has some good views on responsible fiscal management, then you can start revealing your power level. Once people start making connections like open borders = less money for healthcare and education the walls start coming down.

What she said

Free education: someone who is smarter than both me and you shouldnt have to work to get an education (via scholarships) or be in debt for the rest of their life

Open borders: you ancestors didn't have to come here through an immigration process

Healthcare: someone who has cancer or any other illness that was not self inflicted shouldn't have to pay for health care

>How do you even combat liberal logic?

With hard facts. They won't concede defeat. But they'll call you a racist, that's when you know you've won.
>>
Also to be perfectly honest Frances healthcare system is better than in the United States so I wouldn't be arguing against that at all. The US has the best quality of care, but the public/private model of the french provides the best combination of benefits from both approaches (Access for the poor, bargaining power, free market efficency, letting the rich pay for better care) and isn't designed as a retarded cash-in for insurance companies like obamacare.

>someone who is smarter than both me and you shouldnt have to work to get an education (via scholarships) or be in debt for the rest of their life
You don't have to "work" for scholarships. They are granted based on your performance in high school and extracurricular activities. How else should we determine who is smart than this way?

>you ancestors didn't have to come here through an immigration process
Some of them did. Native Americans had open borders and were wiped out by disease for their foolishness. The English and Germans who largely replaced them knew that without immigration rules, no society could exist in the long term. As such, my ancestors who came here in the 19th and 20th century most certainly were subject to an immigration process.

>someone who has cancer or any other illness that was not self inflicted shouldn't have to pay for health care
There isn't enough wealth in the world to provide health care to every single sick person. It's a harsh truth, but not everyone can access a limited service. So long as there are a finite number of doctors, there will be a finite amount of health care services available. This is why European countries do not provide health services for all medical issues and why their waiting times are often measured in months instead of days. This is why someone in their 70s with cancer in Germany or Sweden or France will be told by their government "tough luck" and not get the very treatment she demands they get. Unless you are willing to conscript as many people as necessary to serve as medical professionals, conscript as many as necessary to education them, and make them slaves to the state, "universal" "health" "care" will never exist except in name only.

Health insurance companies mostly operate on a 2-4% profit margin. That's hardly a cash-in. A "good" investment on Wall Street is operating on a 7%+ profit margin. Apple operates on a 20%+ profit margin.

The real beneficiaries of government interference in health insurance and health care has been drug and medical device manufacturers. Government has granted both monopolies. The reason health insurance in the US is expensive is because health care in the US is expensive. The reason health care in the US is expensive is because of these monopolies, the high cost of government-imposed bureaucracy, and hospital price-gauging. Anyone pointing to the cost of health insurance is pointing to a symptom, not the disease.
