Why are parents so shit at parenting these days?

Watership down is a classic, they made us watch it in grade 3 lol..

I let my kids watch this. I couldn't see the problem.

The Mail had a story today about banning bouncy castles because a girl was killed in a freak accident caused by a storm system which when she bounced sucked her up into the air to 500ft and then she fell to her death.

Watership down is traumatising kids but adverts for sex box on channel 4 at 8pm aren't?
>>
>>69154459
Tbf that shit is not a kid-appropriate movie.
>>

Was shown in class at schools across the nation growing up. Today I think they probably replaced it with "my life in pink"

Fuck you pussies that would even ban Bambi.

It's supposed to hurt to watch. You're supposed to watch it when you're too young.

You value it more then, and it makes you question all the happy go lucky shit kids normally watch. That's life, and that's growing up.

There are more emotions that are valuable than blandly entertained.

Frozen

I was somewhat mentally prepared by the Grimm brothers fairy tales. Lots of beheadings and torture there.

In the original tale Cinderella's step-sisters cut off parts of their feet to make the shoe fit. And when the whole thing is exposed the step-mother is made to dance in red hot iron shoes and the sisters are quartered.

>>69164343

It was a pretty good children's book about a group of rabbits who set out on their own for a place to live, and encounter various flawed societies and stuff. Like one group of rabbits they are going to join is peaceful, but a farmer comes along occasionally and traps them to eat.

Nothing super redpilled, but at least it encouraged political thinking. Better than whatever "lol be urself" x1000 lessons kids are learning today.

That's what made a lot of the old cartoons great - they were educational, they were supposed to impart some of life's lessons.

Nowdays we have completely moral-less drivel.

Did you understand jack shit of what the point of it was?

I have memories of being forcefed a lot of deep and methaphoric shit during my childhood that I simply didn't understand.

I still remember going to my local downtown at like 7 years old. Eggs were barely hidden all over the place. The event was not supposed to start until a certain time. I was waiting there with my mom.

Suddenly 2 teenagers ran by and grabbed every single egg they could.

I ended up getting nothing that day from the egg hunt.

That was the first time I started to hate minorities, as of course the kids were brown. I remember asking why they cheated, and got no decent answer from my mom.

This was in silicon valley in California. God damn Mexicans, they have to go back.

It's meant to instill a skepticism about utopianists and populists who every single time abide by the pigs - all animals are equal but some are more equal than others.

Grew up in Northern Virginia, affluent as hell suburb. This wasn't some tough love place, yet I remember distinctly reading Harrison Bergeron. If you haven't read that? http://www.tnellen.com/cybereng/harrison.html

>THE YEAR WAS 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren't only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else. All this equality was due to the 211th, 212th, and 213th Amendments to the Constitution, and to the unceasing vigilance of agents of the United States Handicapper General.

Enjoy it. Jesus christ, look at the name of the Handicapper General and don't tell me what that reminds you of.

I can only imagine something like Harrison Bergeron being vilified nowadays. Hell, do they even still teach Animal farm?

The trip that ensues is excellent. I miss when animators were able to appeal to more than just children. Animation is a medium that doesn't get the respect it deserves.

Read the story. It's a dystopian parody of the communist (and nowadays, leftist/progressive) aspirations. One where equality is literally forced by technology and handicaps, where recognizing that some people are more beautiful than others or more talented at music than others can bring a swift end your way.

Is it over the top? Yeah, so are animal communists. But you can't tell me Harrison Bergeron doesn't have a relevance today

What I love about shit like this is exposing how little lefties have changed since the time of the French Revolution. Every generation thinks they're the first to invent leftist ideals. And then you realize the undercurrents that permeate the last 250 years of the left.

At the end of the day, they've always been angered by the idea that you can't mold humans into whatever form you desire through brainwashing. They are totally opposed to the idea of human nature and universal psychology. This is why they hated Darwinism so much 150 years ago, and still hate it today. This is why it was banned in the USSR and millions died in an attempt to prove that nondarwinian biology could produce superior harvests. fucking lefties.

The warren who turn their back on tradition and have no chief but accept the loss of few of their members to the traps as a small price to pay for their comfortable life of reciting poetry from the food the farmer leaves as bait definitely has some parallels wit the "ignore the bombings, murders and rapes, immigrants bring us economic growth" school of leftism.

It's a really fucked up story about some rabbits that escape from their Warren being gassed.
The help some other rabbits escape from a communist dictator Warren.

Death is in it
The meadow bleeds
General wound wort bites the throats out of other rabbits

You'll cry till you have a fucking headache too.
It's like Lord of the rings style epic self scarifier bunnies

If you saw it too young (which everyone does its a rite of passage) you'll have nightmares because of the psychedelic death scenes

Great musical score.
