The FBI has hacked the iPhone, the last bastion of security and privacy in the world of consumer technology.
They have also abandoned the case which sought to
1) force Apple employees to work for the US gov't against their will
2) force Apple employees to destroy their own (intellectual) property & product

Thank you McAfee for your help.

apple uses slave labor and grossly overprices their product and is solely responsible for the reduced intellectual capacity of two generations, working on a third

the U.S. government tortures people and topples other democratically elected governments for funsies, also might still be running a drug for guns operation in South America. The CIA just does shit like that

Either way you're a whining vapid cunt and should pay denbts

No.

oh yeah because stealing our info and selling it to chinks is privacy
pay debnts

Apple gave the FBI whatever they wanted
They just wanted to protect their brand image
>>
>>69155343
No, the Israeli company hacked it

I think some guy said they literally unsoldered the RAM while still working and copied it again and again so they can have unlimited tries or something

Don't be technologically illiterate, there's no other consumer product with any kind of security.
>>
>>69154105
Kek, where there's software, there's always vulnerabilities.

Just find a way to turn off the auto-destruct and you can bruteforce it with any computer in a few seconds.
>>
>>69154105
This is an iPhone without a Secure Enclave. The company that claims to be able to crack the encryption doesn't do so - it just takes the memory off the phone, makes a copy and lets them bruteforce the PIN code by wiping the memory every 10 attempts.

iPhone 6 is immune to this attack.

You cannot be this tech illiterate

Google doesn't even claim their products are secure in this respect in any way, shape or form, because they are not and never have been.

Stop being tech illiterate, Apple is not an ad company.

Encrypted iPhones have been secure up to this point, parts of iOS are still safe (namely iMessage)

think it's pretty obvious they never needed apples help (I could hack an iphone by simply copying the data and then trying 999999999999 times I'm sure the FBI can) they were just trying their luck with the muh terrorism card to easily access anyones phone (which they totes wouldnt do you can trust the government goy)

Apple literally throws the key away, iMessage cannot be decrypted because Apple never even had the key (by design). It's end-to-end encryption.

Apple doesn't even store data like location etc so the gov't can't tap into it.
And they have been encrypting everything for years exactly for that reason.

If you think
>"Apple is just like Google, Microsoft and Facebook they all sell your data"
you're just a technologically illiterate sheep.
Get educated.
>>
>>69156392
>not realizing apple already has a backdoor into your """"""encrypted""""" data

[citation needed]

Not that I ever liked Apple or would buy their products. Surely some disgruntled Chink or employee would have leaked it or info about
>>
>>69156370
You enjoy that trip then man

I'm going on vacation to a tropical string of islands in the middle of the ocean that I know for SURE has a rare flag. I can't wait, no one's ever quoted me with RARE before.

I kinda hate myself that I'm excited about that.
>>
One thing I don't get is why people were saying that Apple are some bastions of privacy. Apple was part of fucking PRISM, they do not care about privacy and they do not care about keeping data from their customers from the government. I guarantee you this was more about "if the government forces us to crack the iPhone, the means of doing it will then get out to our competitors who can then make better products and threaten our standing" or some other kike shit like that.

That's why you clone it. Fire up multiple work stations and start crunching. They just didn't want to do it. Neither would I as it involves just staring at a monitor for hours to days. Why not try to get in quick by other means as itsaves man power and budgeted over time.
>>
>>69156825
>Apple was part of fucking PRISM
The gov't can force them to share data, it can't force them to collect it or even decrypt it.

iPhones don't store location data for that reason.
iMessage is encrypted end-to-end for that reason.
Since iOS 8, virtually all your data is heavily encrypted on the phone.

The iPhone had become fully secure.

It was designed to make the Government seem incapable and weak, while at the same time bolster Apple's PR. Do you really think the the government couldn't either A. hack it themselves, or B. Force Apple to hack it?
Watch. Soon they'll mention that they shooters had info on the terrorist attack in Belgium or something.

First off, they weren't related to the Islamic State, just inspired

What will that do anyways?

Russia told the US about the Tsarnaevs. They still attacked

Turkey and Netherlands told Belgium about one of the bombers. Belgium did nothing.

All the Paris attackers were known to Feds. Nothing.

After every attack the US and others always say they had no intelligence of an impending attack

FBI knew all along they could hack the phone - they would have tabs on every type of smartphone and how to crack the security on it.

What they wanted was to set legal precedent using the All Writs Act which compels co-operation in all cases with law enforcement, to the point of compelling someone to do your security cracking for you.

Now that it looked like the FBI were going to lose, they "found" that one Israeli company that's been selling this hack for the past year. Cost is probably $20k per device, which is why the FBI presumably wanted to shove that cost of unlocking 100s of iPhones across to Apple.
