A lot will be wasted by doing this. And it's an inefficient process to begin with. Les Stroud rigged a metal distillery and got just a trickle. For a large group it's crazy inefficient.
With a leaf you'll get a few dew drops trickling in and maybe a swallow in an hour.
If you capture all the steam and cool it in a pipe you might get a glass worth.
The multiple filter method + boiling is much better. Add a charcoal filtering stage. You can produce much bigger volumes.

It's more down to the fact I have a shitty HTC sensation xe. And the last update they pushed fucked the phone up (to try force customers to upgrade) adding pictures reloads the page 90% of the time and changing to symbols just removes the keyboard 50% of the time and the fucking thing randomly goes back to google whenever it feels like it

IDK seems like kindergarten to me.
I also had a show idea of recreating the technical progress of civilisation.
A couple of stages (jungle - mine - somewhere snowy - etc.). Each month new group comes.
There is a "replicator", that can make 10 of items, they created (basically you give their item to local niggers and they make a copy with similar tools) in 3 days, while destroying the original.
They can request a transport to another stage with everything they can drag for 10 km.
It`s stone age in the beginning.
The final goal is to print a book, build a ship, a frame house and a cannon that shoots with their home-made black powder.
There could be also goals set for each "epoch". Build a cart, make leather clothes, make fabric clothes, make a bow, etc.
