They work just fine! They will not have pretty polished parts and the parts might be made of plastic but they are extremely reliable when it come to punching holes into things. They tend to be very light weight so more kick and such but so what. One advantage of the AR-platform is if there is something about the gun you really don't like you can easily get a ton of more replacement parts to make it just how you want.
Don't worry, even a bargain cheap ass ARs will fire all day and night long with zero worries.
