It sounds more like you want to farm as a hobby with some additional profit (selling surplus at a local farmer's market maybe) rather than leaping head-first into big agro. This is a lot more feasible and WAY more rewarding.
That being said, lawyers tend to work their asses off so it's possible you won't have the time to work on your farm until retirement. I had a chemistry teacher in high school who was teaching as a first retirement (he was a lawyer before) and he owned a farm. Would bring us ribs from his cows every so often, pretty sweet. As you can imagine though, it takes a lot of work.
