I'd say Austin, Texas because of the Tech industry. All the major tech companies have a big presence there. It's pretty left wing compared to the rest of Texas but you'll have the benefit of Texas law (Pro gun) nonetheless. The Hill Country has a great climate, too. Traffic is garbage, too.

You'd like Texas in general. I'd suggest Houston, but Ft. Worth (or Dallas) could be a good fit as well. The economy is good here, and jobs are plentiful if you've got the experience. Yes, this is not true for everyone. Due to my family, I moved 7-8 times in my childhood, and as a consequence I grew up to hate moving to far away places and any large life changes in general.
Travel is good, and it builds character, but having to move from South Korea to a small town in rural Appalachia (Pennsylvania) was quite traumatizing for me as a little child. It was a small mountain town, and most people there never saw an Asian before.
Many of them were nice (some old people spat at us), but it was too much for my 6 year old self. I didn't hate it, but life was never the same for me since.
