Homelessness, /pol/.

How fix?

>asking /pol/ how to fix homelessness

Most of these people will be homeless when their shitty enabling parents die.
>>
Here in Spain it's entirely their choice.
>>
A large number of them are vets. They came back damaged because they didn't fight hard enough. The answer is, to quote Joseph Stalin, "we have no prisoners of war. only traitors."

Teach soldiers to fight like men or die like men. There is no "try".

This. My friend since middle school literally spend all of highschool playing final fantasy (i don't know how the hell he graduated) until his mom kicked him out and he married a landwhale he met on the internet, where he spent all day playing final fantasy on xbox until he started cheating on her and she kicked him out, he's been homeless ever since, going on 4 years now
>>
Throw blacks and browns over the wall, pay whites food and housing to build the wall.

Cut Welfare
>>
Make really, really cheap housing

Allow employers to pay a really low wage

Make stipulations about who can be hired in these jobs / who can buy these houses
>>
>>69132483

Which would increase crime.
>>
>>69132018

should be put down and cremated like stray dogs

>>
>>69132660
I mean, the problem is largely the step is too high between off the bottom of the ladder, and the bottom rung of the ladder, so make a step lower down on the ladder - is kind of what I mean.
>>
obviously give people more free stuff! duh
>>
>>69132871
same reason you let employers pay the very old or disabled less. It makes it worth having them because its harder to have them
>>
It's simple, we kill them all
>>
>>69132018
Spike the next few month's worth of heroin batches with cyanide and the problem will take care of itself.
>>
>>69132018
you can't, homes are fucking expensive, obviously theres going to be a large number of people who can't afford them in any society, the ones living on the street are just the tip of the iceberg, theres thousands more people couchsurfing because they have no permanent home.

what we can do is not criminalize it because thats fucking stupid, and provide food banks, which are actually a really good idea
>>
>homeless people are just lazy
Amerifats really believe this?
>>
>>69132018
Introduce some kind of obligated work service which they are forced in. In exchange they get community housing, food and, depending on their performance, a little amount of money. Accompanied with regular controls against substance-abuse.
>>
>>69133952
the problem with that is if the work actually produces something of value then it means theres profit in homelessness, which means means more homelessness, like the prison system in america. so the work would have to be pointless busy work, in which case why work and not education?

Yeah i don't get why ordinary homes are so expensive. Here you can get housing benefit and council tax reduction, effectively paying 95% of your rent if you are out of work. But that doesn't cure homelessness by a long shot.

>>69135869
I'm always amazed at how america treats their vets like shit, like even ordinary people. You would think that serving your country would at least entitle you to the odd stay in a barracks if times were hard. Pretty sick T b h
>>
1) Give them housing, doesn't matter how shit, they need a place to sleep and a mailing address
2) Give them a phone
2) Get them connected to jobs

It has to all be one big program, also no drugs or crime or illegal immigrants using it.

Either bait or didn't read.

>obviously theres going to be a large number of people who can't afford them in any society,

It's easy to think that if you live in Britain, which increasingly looks like Calcutta there's so many beggars on the street. Then you come to Holland, and there's literally none. No homeless at all, except maybe a literal handful of people who genuinely prefer living rough for whatever reason.

The British housing market is beyond fucked, and I'm speaking as someone who currently has an empty property in engerland
>>
>>69132018
No handouts = no homeless
>>
A poor man must first see why he is poor, then he must get off his ass and do some work. Better to beat a man until he grows some food then coddle him.
>>

Basically a halfway house, where their rights are limited but not forsaken, and they are given a supervised lifestyle with the goal of holding down a job, the money which they earn pays for their stay unless they can score a better job and move out
>>
A basic income.
>>
>>69135078
Probably too expensive and doubtful if there is sufficient qualification.
Of course must 'my' system not be abused this way. But i only know this extreme example you mentioned from US. Many other countries try to keep their prisoner-counts low.
And there should be another factor which could be helpful too. If one is able to take care of himself again, he should surely be allowed to leave the system. That would offer a useful perspective.
>>
>>69132018
Don't know about the US but here people are homeless for long periods because they choose to be. There's plenty of options with our welfare system for them to find housing.

Only way to help them is to leave them to help themselves. But we keep throwing money and food at them so.why would they.

Government work programs

Imagine what life would be like if you could just quit your job and work for the government for a while. Even if that turned out to be grunt work like digging ditches or riding the desk at the DMV you would have a stable wage while you did whatever and badly needed positions are filled. You could even have more specific placement depending on your level of education, beef up your resume while you party or whatever for a year.

Also, welfare needs to be overhauled entirely. The current problem with the system is that the money is just pissed away on frivolous things, make those who receive aid account for their expenses and ensure that these people are moving forward with improving their lives instead of sitting there shitting out new kids so they can get spinning rims. If the waste in that system is eliminated you'd see a lot more leeway in how we can help those who have truly nothing.

Finally veterans should never be homeless. Call them welfare queens or whatever but those niggas got told to go somewhere by a fucking reptilian for reasons that no sane man on earth could explain at you. Hell, even if they're not getting shot at they're standing around miserable in the hot sun.

Stop setting people up to fail.
>>
Several hundred years ago they had hostels for homeless men. Each men would get a tiny room with a bed for free.

Dunno why they don't do this anymore... oh yeah I know. No one would rent a one bedroom apartment. Let's see...spend half your paycheck renting a one bedroom apartment for a month or stay in a tiny room for free... most men would choose the "free" option.

also for world hunger and overpopulation
>>
There is no fix. Awful things happen. You can keep trying but it's never going to be enough.

Some people choose to be homeless, either because of muh liberty or psychological problems. Many people simply aren't functional. Other people are just unfortunate. Or some mix of the two.

You know about all those empty apartments and empty buildings that jew corporations own?

There is ten times more of those than there are homeless people in USA.
>>
>>69133744

Most homeless people are just lazy. Yeah, I'll admit some just had the world raining shit on them, but a good chunk of them are proud of being homeless.
