Dude was being harassed by his neighbours, they attacked his home and firebombed it. He was a registered firearms instructor and a pro with his guns. Woke up, ran to his safe, loaded two guns, ran outside and fired a few shots above their heads to scare them off. AS they were tossing molotov cocktails onto his home and actually burned one of his dogs.
But of course the government went after HIM, not because he defended himself with force (although initially they tried to say it was too much force), but because "there was no way he could've been storing those guns properly, and ALSO get them out in time to do what he did!"

I don't have that many guns, they're all long-arms, and the most expensive one is $600. All of them are insured. If someone has enough time to break into my house and steal shit that's locked in a safe, it doesn't matter what brand of safe I buy. Short of spending $5,000 on something, I'd say my Stack-On does a good enough job of securing them. And really it's more just a place to keep them together, and to satisfy the "lock up your ammunition" legal requirement. Before the safe I just had the guns leaning up in a closet, with my ammo in a locked metal toolbox.
