epin copypasta I made and keep posting in these threads because you dumb faggots can never come up with answers that aren't "hurr just google it m8 like a lot of scientists agree but never published their methodology or anything, they just agree so appeal to authority":

Prove it is:

A: happening (which I don't doubt).

B: can be directly linked to human actions like burning fossil fuels

C: post specifics, how the parts the humans are doing is actually significant. Like what percent is our fault.

D: post specifics, about just how fast "climate is changing" since "global warming" is no longer the meme term. I want real statistics like "we are getting X warmer every year and I will have to worry about it in Y years becuase Z happened and is devastating"

E: post specifics, about just why I should give two fucks if hipsters faggots have to move their shitty cities 2 miles inland while I pay for retarded infrastructure that would probably cost more

F: if all of that is all real and shit, why I would care if it's as tragic as the lefty faggots think, when they're all just destroying our countries and children's futures with mass immigration of mudslimes and taconiggers and increased socialism to support these subhumans

G: Explain how wind turbines that are complete and utter shit, cost more fossil fuels to build and transport and assemble and shit than they save over their liftime and only work in wind, but not too much wind so you have to use tradition power sources anyway, how solar isn't complete shit that get ruined by dust, only works during the day, without clouds or fog or any retard with an umbrella is within 20 miles

H: Explain why we should be pouring billions of my taxpayer money into this when it is proven the private sector is many times more efficient than any government grant program or research fund. If a company makes and patents the next big innovation in energy, they will quite literally become one of the biggest companies in existence

B - there are many many statistics showing net gain in warmth, melting of northern ice caps, increase in lows and highs of temperatures of extreme weather zones all occuring at the same period of time after industrial revolution

C - cbf

D - this one's pretty well known but cbf getting you a link, soz

E - not sure what this one's about

F - if climate change did have the same negative effect as this immigration you should be actively against both

G - wind turbines are shit, they don't even have a positive energy output until a huge time period is passed and that is excluding renovations / fixes, solar's pre good but will get better with improvements, nuclear is by far the best but is memed too hard by idiots who think it's the same as a nuclear bomb

H - I don't think your taxpayer money is worth billions, maybe in the thousands or tens of thousands, of which a tiny bit would go to it - but, I wouldn't be able to give you a layout on what improvements or taxpayer money should be allocated as cbf

Designing and constructing offshore structures in the Arctic areas. Making sure we humans got energy and habitable places in inhosoitable climate conditions. Nature doesnot discriminate, it don't got no feelings. You got to think of ways to adapt to changing conditions. The current ideas to combate climate change are based on incomplete climate models, donot take a lot of factors into account. We gotta innovate and try to find new sources of energy like nuclear fusion reactor. Donate to research involving this rather than fund eco-terrorists and stupid green politicians who don't even understand the consequences of what they are proposing. Solar, Wind are heavily dependent on the location parameters and power storage capabilities. Mass proliferation of such technologies will lead to additional unforeseen problems (resource shortages, mining pollution) and bottlenecks. And OP you are a faget. Adapt or go extinct bitch

I agree with the first two. The technology will get better with time, but for now, I don't think we should pour public taxpayer money into a shit technology. We need to make them more efficient before we consider doing that. And with nuclear, I'm on board. Let's do it, friend. Shift focus there.

>H -
Still have no idea what cbf means, but to address your point: whatever amount of my personal tax dollars (if you want to break it out like that), goes to green energy and all that is irrelevant to me. If I personally only paid some giant company $6 over my entire lifetime to research and innovate green energy, that's $6 too much. We need to step back and let the free market, which is proven to be the best system in innovation and technology reform, take over. Government is shit and inefficient. Throwing money at a problem won't solve it.

And has anyone stepped back realized we will burn that oil regardless of if we develop an alternative? We aren't just going to switch to green energy overnight. If it's worth it to burn that oil, we will. So we are still going to burn roughly the same amount of fossil fuels regardless of if we actually have an alternative when we run out. People are focused on the environment more than they are how the economy and our way of life will be if we don't have an alternative energy source when we run out of fossil fuels.

Interesting second point, although I believe one of the attributes of greenhouse gases is that they tend to 'stick' and persevere for longer when in higher doses, rather than in a longer, weaker stream. Also I neither agree or disagree with the free market / government taxation government, I'm not informed enough to make a call.

>>69112793
Let me know when I lose you and I'll try to find some data
1.carbon dioxide and methane are greenhouse gases (absorb more infrared than visible light) (this is basic physics)
2. Burning fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide
3. Humans have been burning a lot of fossil fuels
4. Carbon dioxide levels have been increasing
5. Temperatures have been increasing
6. Scientists can't find anything else that might be causing the temperature increase (Orbits, solar activity et cetera are all stable)

Once you accept all that, you're into the murky territory of what the impact will be and what should be done. It's hard to predict exactly the impact but we know that with 1° of temperature rise we are seeing melting ice, more droughts, bigger storms across the world. Most politicians see this as something we should stop if we can. Personally I think it's far too late to do anything about it with 200,000 more people being born every day

Choose one,
>humans aren't causing increased CO2 levels
>increased CO2 levels aren't causing increased temperature

If it's the first then I'd say you're an idiot. If it's the second then I can find graphs to show an incredibly strong correlation. Granted that doesn't necessarily mean causation but in scientific terms a strong correlation, a theoretical explanation and no credible alternative explanation means it's pretty likely to be true.

But address the first two points, please.

>>69115382
Proofs? Source? How did they even gauge thousands of years ago? What the fuck does parts per million mean? In the air? In the soil(which is where I'm assuming they got their samples)? In the ice? All around average? That's extremely vague. How can they honestly back that shit up?

>>69115468
Bullshit. How do you even gauge "global average temperature"? At what physical points do you take your data? Are there a bunch of buoys floating out in the middle of the ocean that they take their data from? Do they take several samples? When did they start? How can they extrapolate that? Also: Correlation is not causation. Prove the link between the two.

1. Humans are contributing 100%, there's nothing else releasing extra CO2 into the atmosphere
2. Very hard to know how fast it's coming to bear.
3. Whether you care is another matter and completely irrelevant to whether it's happening or not.
4. Parts per million is the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere
5. There are boys floating in the middle of the ocean and weather stations all across the globe, they take as many samples as possible and average them.
6. Temperature and CO2 data from thousands of years ago comes from ice/soil cores, which contain bubbles of air from when the ice was laid down. So for example if you drill 100 feet down, you carbon date the ice to find out how old it is and then measure the levels of gases in the bubbles which tells you what the temperature was and the CO2 level. This has been done thousands of times all across the globe and averaged.

I accept the correlation isn't causation, but the correlation is very strong

If they all choose to smoke, yes. You're comparing your own personal decisions with the decisions of your benevolent overlords making your decisions for you. >1. Humans are contributing 100%, there's nothing else releasing extra CO2 into the atmosphere
There is absolutely no way you can back that claim up. Do you know how many factors can contribute to CO2 emissions? Birth of an extra deer out in the woods somewhere technical contributes to CO2 emissions.

>2. Very hard to know how fast it's coming to bear.
So again, how is this linked to human interaction and why should I throw my tax dollars at it?

When? Where? How? By whom? How can I trust it? What's their method of accountability? What if some faggot just makes up numbers?

So you drill in Antarctica for temperature readings. How does this show total global temperature? Who's to say Earth's tilt wasn't a mere seconds of arc off two thousand years ago, making Antarctica colder for a few hundred years there, before the Earth's tilt went the other way?

>Greenhouse gases cause climate change
What are you doing to combat greenhouse gasses?
Have you waged war on water vapour yet?
>>
>>69113071
because keeping the climate 100% static is more important than anything else for some reason

>Scientists can't find anything else that might be causing the temperature increase
lol maybe they should try
but of course they won't, because their careers are already heavily invested in the current running myth

>correlation does not equal causation
but he's right.
do you even know what that statement means?

>>
>>69126273
this is essentially what needs to be done, yes, phrasing it in a funny way doesn't detract from it lol
>>69127110
Which is why formal logic and the scientific method is used when implying causation, hence the use of the former.

All this talk but it means nothing.
