were they right?

should we have listened

Afghanistan NO, Iraq, which could have possibly been lost to ISIS, has fairly similar elements to Vietnam, but that has for the most part been avoided, as we see ISIS being dismantled as we speak.

They were absolutely right. If we have to play the guessing game over who is a terrorist and who isn't we will lose everytime. We should've never put boots on the ground, just bombed both places back to the Stone Age
>>
>>69107439
Yes, they were right. Efforts there were wasted. We should have gone in with a limited aim of killing as many terrorists as possible within a few months and then gone home.

Trying to bring Western civilization to a people who would like to spend their time raping little boys is a fool's errand.
>>
>>69108500
>just bombed both places back to the Stone Age

So that you can eliminate the problem of who is and isn't a terrorist, by just turning all of them in terrorists?
>>
>>69108651
No I'm suggesting everyone is dead. Literally everyone. Won't be any terrorists if there are no survivors.

Yes, they were right. It was a waste of several trillion dollars.

We accomplished nothing in Afghanistan.
>>

>>

>Was afghanistan "another vietnam" after all?
Half Vietnam. Vietnam was done by conscripts that made huge opposition in society. Lesson was learned and West switched to mercenary force. So political backlash of failures is greatly reduced. Yeah, Afghanistan is not going smooth now but it doesn't matter at all. Real target is achieved - Osama is dead, fuck everything else.

>>
>>69109317
Osama had been dead since 2001 at the earliest, 2007 at the latest.
>>
>>69107439

Here is the problem:

The US tried to fight conflicts in a polite and non-violent manner, which produces expected results.

If we could simply not pretend as if we care about the people we are bombing and simply decimate them, we'd be fine, but we're a nation of cuckold faggots Who drink rice milk, eat vegetarian sushi, and worship gender fluid nigger faggots.
>>
>>69109191
We got revenge. Killed Osama. Have semi permanent presence there. Isis came about during Obama and Muslims I Europe have always been a fifth column
>>
>>69109565
>The US tried to fight conflicts in a polite and non-violent manner, which produces expected results.
Love this meme. US is responsible for biggest civilian casualties and destruction since WW2

There was nothing "human" about Falluja, nor bombing villages in Afghanistan or Pakistan
>>

>>

It sure was for the Russians
>>

So? Target was achieved.

>>
>>69107439

To conquer Afghanistan requires permanent occupation. The Pashto are too warlike that they'll just start doing the same shit once you leave.

That's impossible with liberals though. In fact winning any war is pretty much impossible for the USA now because of how liberal it is.

mostly due to incompetence is setting up a stable government and supressing insurgents like in Vietnam.

We've invaded Afghanistan 4 times and excluding the current war our it's 2-1 to us.

That was us, idiot. America supported the Mujaheddin. Russia was forcing secularism onto the nation.

There's nothing wrong with tapping into that entrepreneurial spirit of free market capitalism per se.

But when you're providing military arms to enable an insurgency to flourish where otherwise it wouldn't. That's called wealth redistribution or better known as Socialism.
>>
>>69111423
ok so when IS gets invaded be sure to send them some lend-lease
>>
>>69111423

Apart from the fact Afghanistan was fighting insurgents from Pakistan (That the US supported) and had to call Russian support to keep the government proped up.

The US was the one funding the invasion.

we spent our time killing the people who were stopping the boy raping

The US funded mujahidins and your average extremist group from this area just to dick around with russia back then. it backfired so hard you guys had to invade several countries to extinguish the fire you started, and it's far from over.

>>
Those wars are only winnable by cleansing the population

In their eyes, the terrorists are heroes despite them wanting to go and blow up innocent people. So the militias will be hidden every time out troops come looking

It's the Muslim problem, leave none alive and you solved the problem and won the war

Though winning the war these days means winning it for Israel so bleh
>>
>>69111744
considering most of your men and women are dead, I'd definitley say us.

could of napalmed the lot, but we couldn't find anyone else willing to farm goats up a mountain desert.
>>
>>69107439
There were no victory conditions, and they were basicly waging a war against a cultural pillar.

You can't "Win" wars these days unless your being invaded as the second component, "colonization" has been labeled a national crine(except a certain non Muslism, Christian country).

Your basicly just cordoned off the street as the local populace throw rocks at you from their windows.

You'd of had fun with that Janski, at least we have the channel protecting us from the Asiatic hordes, you guys had Adenhauer and De Gaulle; two men who couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.
>>
You should have invaded Saudi Arabia instead. Afghanistan had nothing to do with 9/11 and you know it.
>>
>>69107439
You're in Afghanistan so that it continues to export tons of heroin to Russia. Taliban actually banned its production when it came to power, but US would have none of it.
>>
>>69107439
last I checked, the Taliban and Osama where dead.
>>
>>69112121
>You are aware that there would be no ISIS without your war in iraq?

There was going to be a backlash of the sunni clergy eventually; like there was in the Iranian revolution, Muslims and secularism don't mix; very light secularism is a push.

they've just sped up a trend of pushi ng the people towards the clergy.

Daily reminder that both before and after 9/11 the US could have had bin laden brought to justice if they hadn't acted like petulant children, all they needed to do was agree to have bin laden tried in a non-US court (pre-war) or present any evidence of culpability (post-9-11).

The administration wanted a war so they could install western friendly governments to act as a more malleable agent in the region (more malleable than Israel, which has its own agenda). This is the same reason we went into Iraq with manufactured claims of WMD and terrorist connections both of which were completely unfounded.

Wake the fuck up to the shady bullshit the US has been up to, we are fucking over the entire world with our bullshit.
