All I can say is I know some Syrians that came here before the whole refugee influx and they did a very good job of integrating. Syrians typically drink and there's (relatively speaking) a large Christian population, so it isn't as if we're getting the most hardcore, old-fashioned muslims. It's always harder when you're surrounded by your own people though. Less incentive to adapt if you're living in a single room with 10 other people from your country who all speak the same language.
