If you have any pre-modernist understanding of the discourse and even the genres of the texts that make up Genesis at all the very concept of evolution doesn't weigh in much at all with that. In fact, some parts of discourse are supportive of the idea of evolution (implicitly, of course) into the medieval era and even as far back as the patristic period. The only place is really plays a part in refuting common conceptions and weighing into the discussion in a serious way is with the discussion of how Adam and Eve exist in relation to evolution. Which, I'd say, isn't much of an issue anyway.
This is why the Catholic Church took to evolution discussion very easily and very early on while modernists (of any denomination, even lay Catholics in some cases) struggled with it.
Christians are the lesser evil, and outside of the bullshit they've ruined republican politics with, are pretty harmless when left to their own devices. That said, the ones on /pol/ in particular are hypocritical pieces of shit that don't practice what they preach.

Well I suppose it would be good to start with the conception of God. This would be discussions of Classical Theism. There are a lot of good people who teach it but I'd say a good intro person would be the professor named Edward Feser. He has a few books on the topic which are very good(Such as 'Aquinas') and one decently argued polemic on the conception of God specifically (called 'The Last Superstition').
He also has a blog where we does some more casual writing.

Technically I'm an agnostic, I'm not a "hard atheist" like Dawkins or whatever, and I have no issues entertaining the notion of Deism- I just don't think it's particularly likely.
