I think he fully intended a cult. He tells people to isolate themselves from family members and friends that don't jive with his ideology. He gets pissy when people send him heartfelt thanks WITH ONLY A FUCKING DOLLAR. He crafts an infallible image of himself as a master philosopher and weasels his way out of ever being wrong or changing his ideas and growing as a person.
If you ever meet a person completely lacking in humility and also trying to convince you of something, be weary of them and assume they are out to control your mind.
