Either they indoctrinate you towards the left, or they try to get you to the right in some areas.

Teachers union. They manipulate parents to believe that the union is looking out for the best interest of the child, when they just want to get more money from the govt.
It's at the mercy of property taxes so if you go to school in a poor area the school will be shit.
If you live in a middle/upper class area then it's fine.

I shit you fucking not, regular classes were called advanced classes so the dumb kids wouldn't feel bad about being put in "regular" classes. A.P. was almost nonexistent outside of math.
Smartboards were expensive, required expensive training, and somehow students can still use them far better than the teachers. Just use a fucking whiteboard and a normal projector.

>>69043370
Went to a public high school, elitist/advance class. Just this day saw an in the local newspaper, they're quitting the advance class system, to spread high-performance students across the school, to drag up the monkeys. To fight "grade segregation".
No child left behind - all children held back. That's what's wrong with public schooling.
Private schools get more hate here in commie Sweden, because danes keep starting shit-tier schools and make a profit off of the municipality. People rush to ban rather than regulate. Young swedes of today are fucked, and not only by the refugees.

Because teachers have no say in the material or how to teach their class. If you're in a shitty school with kids with little to no interest (or accountability) in learning, it's a constant uphill battle to reach benchmarks.
If the class is falling behind, it's too bad because you can't spend that time to help them understand the content. It's a clusterfuck.

I alternated between private school and public school a few times, I'll provide some feedback, I do not think most of the board will like it. Using a trip b/c I feel like it.
Here are the years that I was in each:
Pre-4th Grade - Private
5th-6th Grade- Public
7-10th Grade - Private
11th-12th Grade - Public
Even the best public schools are vastly inferior to the average private school. When I transitioned to 5th Grade public school I was shocked with how low performing all the kids were. Their reading was miserable, in terms of math the public school was about two years behind where I was-- if you were average at my private school you would have looked like a genius here. The bar was that different.
Worse, my class also had two near "special needs" kids in it. They slowed down all of the classes and often required resources dedicated to them. They would never have been in my private school.
I then went to Private School and plowed forward. All of my class mates were much smarter. Actual conversations and debates could be had that would bring up novel points. Discussions were facilitated and the teaching method was much less top down-- we did not call our teachers Mr. X or Ms. Y, but we addressed them by their first names. We were encouraged to question things more than in Public school. And our curriculum did not slow down for anyone, it went as fast as the teacher wanted. So in math we hit everything well before anyone in public school would.
Our writing was judged harshly. We had to write in MLA format and we were doing 10 page research papers in 8th grade. If you read anyone else's essays, they were actually pretty good. For English class, everything was uncensored and whatever content the teacher wanted was in there. Nigger/Fag/Etc-- we had to read those words aloud and we discussed the terms fairly maturely. Cont.

No child left behind was a mistake.

Then I went back to Public school and took all Advanced Placement classes. I have no idea what it would have been like in a normal class, because I was already in the top 1% of my peers in AP. Any student from my private school would have been. We were just all way smarter, better educated, etc.
The cool part about public school was that it was much easier to get laid. The downside was how stupid everyone was outside of the AP classes. It was flooded with idiots.
The problem with Public school is that anyone can attend as long as they live in the district. In private school you get families who care about their children's education enough to pay for it, they are all descended from middle/upper class, etc. In Public school you get just anyone. Randoms. Some of them are complete idiots, parents do not care about them, and they are in school as a daycare.
Even if someone smart started in Public school, they would have been held back by how stupid the other kids are and the lack of peer challenge would make them dumb.
Public school kids are not challenged to their limits ever. They are just put on the standard. And getting in that habit makes them weak.
---
In terms of political ideology, Public schools lean right, just by the curriculum design. The materials you have access to all support a very center-right view of politics and many things are left out of US and World History to create a pro-American narrative. I think public schoolers mistake their education as Liberal because some of their teachers are liberal-- but the materials, courses, etc-- they are very conservative.

That's because public school is not to educate.
It is the break and make pliable a new generation of wage slaves. To instill in them a fear of the arbitrary whims of authority, and destroy an sense of capability they have.
And then, it shits them out, after twelve years, with no real world applicable skills, to the point where a high school diploma is worth less than a GED at present. Though, neither will have conveyed how to properly assess financial risk, how to build credit and live within ones means.
>>69046488
>a high school diploma is worth less than a GED
They've always been equal. That's kind of the point.
The fact that school boards want to corrupt children with sex and leftist ideas
>>69044116

oh that's right, as long as it is a non-Western religion we can learn about it and teach it.

>Being under state supervision means having an equal status as all other schools in the state. This means you'll have civil servants as teachers. Meaning they'll care less about their jobs since they have lower pay and less chances to lose it for bad teaching methods.
>Many countries have a national curriculum which goes with methods to rate teachers, but that means bland lessons which provide nothing but information to the student.
>Parents are not paying much to the public school, often they don't pay anything at all. Since the mind goes where the money is, the parents will tend less to focus on the child's education. Whereas if the child is doing badly in private, it's a loss of money. That makes them care about the child doing good to give value to what they're paying for or change school.
>That second scenario is a loss for the school, which force-triggers an improvement in their teaching methods. You don't have that in Public schooling
Public schooling doesn't compel the student to study, doesn't compel the teacher to teach, doesn't compel the parent to care, doesn't compel the school to change.
>>69044002
this
American public school system has become jobs program for adults and not an education program for students.
the teacher's union opposes any reforms that will improve educational outcomes by giving parents school choice (to divert children and govt. resources to more successful schools) or that will close down perpetually failing schools and fire shit teachers
they blame the govt. and republicans for not giving them enough money when we spend more per student than any country on earth and get sub par educational outcomes
>>69045849
>What? Why?
There were a few reasons behind it.
The most important one was that our school emphasized research, investigation, and ignoring the rank/status/position of other people in favor of the pursuit of truth. The school was extremely liberal and that actually pushed me towards conservatism. But in private school that was actually okay and some of the teachers really seriously debated with me, acknowledged my points, and gave counter-points that challenged me or that made me understand the issue better.
Regardless, the lack of titles allowed us to talk as peers. And if you started an argument with a teacher over something political or about taste, you had to be prepared to finish it. They would never appeal to being the teacher or their authority/knowledge, but to real arguments.
I have noticed that this has helped me in business. Many public school kids have complexes about interacting with other adults or some awkwardness, and I think growing up with titles does that.
>>69046488
I do not quite agree with you, simply because there are a lot of educators who are in the system who really do want to educate the youth, and because they design the curriculum around it.
I would say that there are limiting factors that tend to make many public schools become "diploma farms" rather than actual places of learning.
The main issue is not about the design of the system-- it's about the students themselves and the expectations placed on them. There's basically too much dirt for the cream to rise.
I will say that there were a few public school kids who put in a tremendous amount of effort and thus were able to be successful-- but it required them forming private peer networks and basically avoiding the general student population.
>>69044691
But how are we supposed to confiscate them if there is a national emergency if they don't know who has what?
Teachers that stay long enough so they can't be fired but lose any and all reason to teach so they become sacks of shit that just annoy or fail students while they wait for retirement.
>>69043500
Just go to the advanced classes.
I'm a Middle school teacher. We have too many responsibilities for too little reward. I'm going to finish the year and become a full time substitute teacher. Literally 20% of the work for 80% of the pay.

the world is a scary place, now that you've woken up the demon....
Someone post the niggers chimping out in class, while the white kid tries to ignore them, then, sick of it all, knocks one to the ground when it steps on her desk.
This is what school is like in the Southern US.
Also, half of the staff are niggers with double digit IQs.
I vividly remember them spending hours discussing which BBQ joint they were going to get lunch from.
Just remembered this,
>get sent to timeout
>two black deans, and the black resource officer are there
>one kid stole a juice from the cafeteria
>he's getting yelled at by the boon cop
>BOY I HATES ME A STIEF, I HATES ME A STIEF, DATS ONE THANG I CANT STAND
>the cop can't pronounce thief
>I ask "What do you have against Steve? What did he ever do to you?"
>BOY YA PRESSIN MY BUTTONS, ONE OF THESE DAYS YOU GONNA HIT THE RIGHT ONE, AND ITS GONNA OPEN MY CAGE AND IM GONNA SWOOP OUT AT YA LIKE A HAWK

public school has been pointless for about the last 10 years with the ever increasing ease of access to information, if it wasn't so subsidized we'd have many alternative forms of certification by now.

High school is useless. Have your kid start college courses while doing an independent study program.
>>69049848
I got in trouble for reading ahead in History, because I would finish the assignments very early, and read ahead because I was genuinely interested.
I remember we had this one literature text book, and we had to read some short story during class. I finished early and the teacher yelled at me, I said I had finished reading it, she says "You're lying, I'm not even done reading it yet"
I also mindfucked a math teacher for about 20 minutes by claiming that it was wrong to label ">" as greater than, and "<" as less than.
They put me in "drop out prevention" classes, and made me go to the library for 2 periods a day, where I did the work that should've been relegated to an IT professional for $50,000 per year.
and I guess drop out prevention didn't work, because I dropped out my freshman year of high school.
>>69049848
I remember being in class and we were reading "The Great Gatsby" and I was told by the teacher to stop orating the story because it was making the black students angry and upset that I was reading more fluidly than them. I was actually upset after that and I just stopped participating in the class until they put me in AP level course.

Depends on the country, but generally it seems that their problem is that they are not incentivized to educate effectively, and there is no accountability expected from them because "muh teachers".
All they do is babysit kids, indoctrinate them politically, and avoid upsetting anyone or rocking the boat.
It's a manifestation of our cultural weakness that this works.
>>69050852
Because I registered too late and they placed me in a regular class. I didn't know at the time that AP classes even existed mind you I thought they were classes I had to pay upfront for too. I didn't get any info on them until I started getting upset at my teacher and started complaining to my counselor about it.
>>69050748
When they put me in the drop-out prevention classes I was in the 6th grade, they placed me back into mainstream classes my 9th grade year. In the drop-out classes the only math we did was multiple choice work, nothing more complicated than long division or multiple digit multiplication. When I hit high school I was placed into an algebra class, and I had no idea what was going on.
I thought I was just dumb when it came to math until I watched a series of TTC lectures on basic math, then used Khan academy to teach myself the fundamentals, eventually teaching myself geometry, algebra and calculus.
I did this for preparation for the GED.
Except when I took the GED test it was just more middle school level math and was totally unnecessary to pass.
I still don't know how to write in cursive, and I'm 30.

Blacks should be segregated to their own schools.
Boys and Girls should be segregated for their own classrooms.
Ideally the boys school would be run similar to the Boy Scouts of America or another para-military organization.
Teachers either aren't competent, are dead inside, or just make it hell on the kids. Not that I blame them. A large percentage of kids are just cancerous fucks who don't have any courtesy for anybody.
