Its one of the most comforting things in the world to know you have someone in your corner to support you if life gets hard.
Unfortunately a lot of people have unhealthy relationship with their parents and society shames them if they want to break off that abusive relationship. Remember you have the RIGHT to leave ANY abusive or toxic relationship. Its a parent's job to build a strong relationship with their kids, not the child's.
I would suggest going to a counselor (that specializes in male issues) to narrow down the root of the problem and try to engage your parents to see if the relationship can be saved and made healthy. If it can't move on for you own well being.

I don't think so, at least not in my case.
My dad abandoned me and though i cried at the start i just don't feel anything now, i've also got a loving mom and decent brother and sister, but i don't feel particularly attached to them or anything, and every day i feel that bond eroding away. As for the rest of relatives like grandparents i couldn't care less.
It's ok if you don't feel anything but actively trying to harm them is indeed fucked up.
Ultimately i just want to graduate from university and go as far away as i can and follow my dreams alone, maybe creating a family along the way, even though i have my doubts about my ability to love.
