identity politics reigns supreme....

When will these swine ever figure out how they're being played?

Direct-democracy and ethics is the only way to go.

The real question is why do Liberals oppose oligarchy? The Jews at the top want to destroy the white race and make everyone socialist.

They don't. They call it communism and they worship it

serious rebuttal

in the times of the kings, production required an iq of perhaps 90 at the most, meaning that the iq gap between kings and subjects was minor. anyone too stupid died. if the stupid hadn't died, they end up killing the smart tribal warfare style (hello arabian herders who couldn't learn to farm.)

in industrialism, production requires an iq of 95, meaning that quite a few more people than before are incapable of work

under technological capitalism, production requires an iq of perhaps 115 for any decent job. why shouldn't we reward the smart people for this? for the first time in history, smart people aren't at the mercy of some big brute with an axe. why should we have mercy on stupid, low iq people, after having been killed by them for millions of years?
>>
>>69003419
Why is CEO pay something that ordinary people should give a shit about anyway? It's a concern for the Board of Directors and the shareholders, and whether or not they think they're getting value for the amount of money they're paying the top management.
>>
>>69004359
You are suffering from stockholm syndrome. You are trying to find something you share with the people who are raping us so you can pretend you are on the winning side. You are being raped and telling people that they deserve to be raped because they have low IQs.... 95 IQ, 115 IQ.... You're being fucked by greedy people who lack morals.
>>
>>69005062
what the fuck is wrong with you?

The turbine engineer of a company should be making wayyyy more than the ceo who holds a bachelours in business.
>>
>>69006940
There isn't any intrinsic ranking of jobs. Labor is like any other commodity, it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Presumably there are more engineers than CEOs.
>>
>>69006518
you can't force someone to give you their private property. the fuck is wrong with your head?

jobs should be allocated fairly, but the pay of those jobs is not yours to decide, because it's not your property.
>>
/pol/ swinging left again. What difference does it make how much the folks at the top make to you? Do you think you'll see any benefit from forcing their wages down? Do you understand how corporate boardrooms and competition are in 2016?

The above graphic shows a 750% increase in wages for CEO over the time period.

Meanwhile the MEDIAN american worker has seen practically no increase.

All the gains to growth have gone to the TOP, even tho the average american worker has become much more productive/skilled during this time.
>>
>>69010986
Ok so why should the pay of a very small minority of individuals whose talents are the most sought after not increase if corporations think that those workers are the main reasons for increased productivity?
>>
>>69009637

Because opportunities for growth aren't infinite and when every instance of growth benefits the upper minority inordinately, we're fucking ourselves collectively in the long-run when all the low-hanging fruit have been picked.

Also there are negative effects on the economy regarding real estate prices and the ratio of normal goods to luxury goods when there is high inequality.
>>
>>69011268
The fundamental problem is one of economic efficiency.

CEO's have fundamentally influenced the value of their firm through rent-seeking behavior. Although it may be good for their bottom line it is not good for America.

Things like Outsourcing jobs to other countries, tax avoidance and predatorial acquisition are the jobs of the modern CEO.

By no means is it there fault or should the government control how much they make. But it is the governments fault for letting them pad their own pockets by sending millions of millions of americas job overseas, so the CEO gets richer while a factory worker at Carrier loses his job
>>
>>69010986

What invention came out around the 70's that could improve productivity? You're probably using it right now! Just because productivity is increasing doesn't mean that the person is working harder, probably the opposite

Don't think anyone on /pol/ has suggested that rich cunts that ship their jobs overseas and fuck us over is a good thing, just a difference in the opinion in what brought the rich cunt to start shipping jobs overseas in the first place. When it's so insanely hard to do business in your own respective country and turn a solid profit, rich cunts do what rich cunts do best. Bleeding liberals think taxing the fuck out of people that're storing their taxes overseas will somehow fix the problem, but we have to remember it was only after liberals tried to enact all these shitty trade deals and fuck with the rich that it practically urged these cunts to go overseas. They don't give a shit about your feelings, they have investors to please. People who try and gloss over that simple fact and say "muh taxes!!!" are the problem.

A builder with a tractor is not working harder than a builder with a shovel but still makes way more goods.

This, the oligarch don't bother me as long as they are hiring americans and not importing 3rd worlders or exporting manufacturing. Who am I to say how rich some one should get? Jealousy is another form of greed.
>>
>>69011763

This logic ends up with appeasing investors to no end until you're literally begging them to stay in your country by throwing money at them and letting them do all types of corrupt horseshit like dump toxic waste in the river ("Environmental regulations are burdensome and pesky red-tape. Liberals drive out all the business out of this country trying to protect the water source!").

You have two choices: ask businesses to make jobs in your country or tell them to.
>>
>someone makes more money than me

Start your own business then OP
>>
>>69012121
>begging by throwing money at them
We're not though, in 1982 the federal income tax was 28% for the richest who made more than 10 million. This was considered the golden days of America, as OP implied. What happened? A plethora of taxes were added against businesses, and almost as if on purpose (or pure idiocy) trade deals were passed that made it significantly easier to ship jobs overseas. Businesses weren't taxed the fucked up, they were able to make a profit. Something people just will never understand is the basic fucking common sense, business owners have investors to please. They will lie, cheat and do whatever they have to do to get the extra buck. That's their job, that's why these CEO's get paid a fuck ton. They keep their corporation running smoothly, and in this day and age that's by finding every single possible way to evade the insane taxes. Trickle down economics don't work, but at the same time taxing companies a fuck ton and leaving a technically legal opening where they can get away with paying next to nothing... are you honestly surprised?
>>

I'm not saying that high taxes are good at all.

But people get this "battered wife" syndrome where they start defending corporate interests as if they were their own, saying that the government shouldn't tax them because they'll flee.

Well yeah they'll flee obviously but you can't let them do that.

b) easy to evade taxes legally

You people don't seem to understand that the richest elite are paid the most because they are highly trusted. You can only trust someone to look after trillions of dollars in investments if they have been properly conditioned thier entire lives. Wharton school, Harvard business school, the corporate ladder- this is all about preparing people to control wealth. If you're a member of the middle class you're basically just another mouth breather with zero chance of being accepted by the elite.

>Bascially by outsourcing jobs

Why are you more deserving of a job simply for being born in the first world?

You are not entitled to anything simply due to your birth, if someone somewhere else can do the same job cheaper, it would be stupid not to hire them.

And it's not like CEOs pocket the profit from a publicly traded company either (other than what they have in stock options of course). The members of the board, you, me, and millions of other people may all hold shares in the business. The CEO and board has to answer to these shareholders (i.e. the OWNERS of the company). And shareholders expect them to make decisions based on sound business practices (not feels) that maximize the return on their investment.
>>
>>69014839
Why should CEO's have an obligation to pay Americans for a job when a chink is willing AND ABLE to do the same thing for 5% of the cost? It's your fault, not the CEO's if your job and therefore you are becoming obsolete and easily replaceable by low cost subhumans such as robots or indians.

Ok, so you can print infinite money. Heck, even the physical printing is unnecessary, just edit the number in a bank account, but that additional money doesn't create more wealth. Wealth is created by the exploitation of natural resources. No amount of money printing will make a farm grow more grain, you still have a finite amount of goods.

Mass printing causes inflation, a la the Weimar Republic, precisely because it doesn't create wealth. Inflation is more money chasing the same amount of wealth.

When you buy something you get a product, which you have decided you want more than your money. Likewise, the company gets your money, which they want more than their product. He also believed in the iron law of wages. We were so much smarter before we turned everything into a moral tantrum.

Read a book. About history. And try to think about it.

Couldn't this just be a result of the general trend in the last few decades of companies consolidating into large conglomerates? i.e. there are simply fewer CEO positions in the world compared to thirty years ago, but the risk management work they do, which gives them their value, has stayed the same or increased because it's tied to the size of the market.

I mean, let's be honest, a worker's buying power has decreased/stagnated, but it's not a tenth of what is was before. Not to say that conglomeration isn't a problem itself, or that there isn't a lot of back scratching in the corporate world, but higher payment for management isn't just a 'social construction', or whatever feminists say. There is a reason why the economy works the way it does. You should try to work with market forces, not against them.

If you don't like American's economics, don't support it. I live here on Visa and make more money here than I would in my home country so I support them.

Stop eating your cake and having it.

All I gather from this is that you should strive to become a CEO.

Democracy is mob rule where 51% can subjugate the rest of the 49%. The most cancerous form of government in existence. That's why our country is a republic

Yeah, and when this logic was implemented during first days of the Soviet Union it totally backfired as production plummeted. One of the main reasons was this exact logic of "anyone can do their job!, It is us hard workers who do are the real value!". Even Lenin himself admitted he was wrong about this towards the end. It turns out that for many big businesses, only a select few people have the training and skills necessary to perform specialized tasks. Hence why they're paid more.

Common Core in action, folks.

Yes their actions and decisions are worth that much more. If a CEO makes a wrong decision, it could easily cost a big company millions of dollars. Just look at the former CEO of JC Penney. It was his idea to try eliminate deals and coupons to have constant low rates and it ended up costing the company hundreds of millions in sales. Now compare that to an entry level cashier. You fuck up and you maybe cost them a few hundred dollars, maybe thousands if you are actively trying to screw them.
