the difference tends to be the filler. Sure the active ingredient will be the same, but different producers will put in different filler.
So yeah basically, they are different, but in no meaningful way besides price.

Extended release products in generic versus brand form will differ in their release mechanism.
Drugs given in micrograms or similar small dosage units vary drastically based on the emollient used. Generic and Brand name use different emollients and manufacturing processes, which can cause degradation to occur more quickly (1wk vs 2wk), hence only Brand name is used (Synthroid)
Of course this is just a troll thread so these two examples will just be ignored. There are a few other examples in pharmaceutics, but I don't think anyone here will appreciate them.
