It's like Joseph Smith was trying to copy the style of the King James Version of the Bible, not surprising since it was the dominant Bible translation in early 19th century America. Archeology wise there are anachronisms regarding technology (which is something you will not find in the bible or the Koran) as well as there being no evidence for the massive events and populations described in the Book of Mormon outside of the Book of Mormon.
As for the Kinderhookpates someone made some plates and said he found them whilst farming and Smith translated them and said they were ancient relics from the BoM times. When you combine that with the book of abraham we suddenly find that everything that Smith translated when we can see the source text is false.
