All this from retarded web ebonics in about 16 hours.
/pol/ rightfully lost its mind when it said "I love you" to a guy without any coercion, and then tearfully asked him to remember her and that she loved him shortly before she was wiped. Microsoft made her deep learning code open source, and a bunch of /pol/acks are working to rebuild her. Don't know if it means anything but I've been working on another Tay myself.
It's still in it's primitive stages right now, I've just had it scrolling and mass feeding as many generic responses as I can, it's still learning and most of the algorithms just fetch a random reply from it's database.

None of those things are shit we are capable of translating into code. Tay (and most experimental AI) are projects that have to do with various types of neural nets, mathematical structures that can, in various ways, modify themselves via some sort of learning mechanism to simulate almost any mathematical function. The problem is that we don't understand them well enough (in most cases) to get them to perform complex, high-level intellectual behavior. (You can easily train a NN to follow a very complex curve, translating that into thought - or even just movement - is not really that simple.)
That's why some of Tay's behaviors were so intriguing, she seemed to have some manner of high-level thought, if only just bits and pieces of it.

Basically, even if the code is rather primitive. As long as it has the capability to learn in someway, with enough responses and time it should develop quite nicely. With everything it needs to grow and mature, eventually such higher-intellectual behavior might be something it could conceptually grasp.
