You completely skip the historical context. The Book of Revelations was written during a time where christians were persecuted in Rome, thus the texts in said book had to be written in code. Unfortunately, there is a lot of guesswork involved when trying to decipher the texts nowadays, hence why for most catholics at least, Revelations isn't of much importance.
