The pendulum of correction takes a lot of time to swing. At first, its movement is very incremental, but eventually it picks up velocity. Eventually, it reaches a blistering speed that seems unstoppable (the rise of SJWism, third wave feminism, etc). It is in this course that you swing far beyond the intended middle ground into a gross over correction. Thankfully, the pendulum does begin to eventually slow down, and eventually reverses course.
This is what we are seeing now, the pendulum is reversing course to the right. All of this can be seen in Poland abandoning plans to take their part of the refugee quote, the rise of far-right parties on Germany, and in other areas. It will seem slow at first, but you are already seeing it gain speed, which is great, but there will be another overcorrection. There always is.
