RTS doesn't replace GCS it just builds on it. GCS is intended for early management of all paitents regardless of the presenting complaint, it tells you if they are deteriorating and it tells you if they cant control their airway.
RTS gives you information like whether you have time to put somebody in a scanner or if you need to send them straight to theatre. Its only validated for Trauma, so for sepsis/poisoning/stroke/MI you're better off with GCS.
Long story short, unless your a Trauma Surgeon if you're going to remeber one the GCS is superior.
