>Wisconsin governor Scott Walker said Thursday that in the event of a contested convention, the Republican nominee will likely be someone who is “not currently running.

Will we see a comeback?
>>
>this kills the primary system
>>
>>68676050
Has something like that happened ever in the history of US primaries?
>>
>>68676050
Anyone with half a brain can see they're trying to get R Money to be the nominee in case of a contested convention for some reason.
>>
My dad has convinced himself that Paul Ryan will get the nomination.
>>
>>68676050
Will not vote for Scott Walker. I'll write in Trump. Don't even care if I waste my vote
>>
>>68676646
Wouldn't Romney be bretty good second choice though?

No thanks
>>
>>68677882
He lost to Obama. He's tainted goods. No one wants him other than perhaps the establishment. They're insanely out of touch with the public and no matter how many focus groups they conduct, they're just not willing to accept that the people don't want the shit they're selling. They think if they put a fancy label on it, everyone will change their mind and gobble it down.

Other Christians see them as the heretics they are, and won't vote for one.

IIRC Romney was the /pol/ candidate a few years back. If so, will you turn against Trump too if he ends up losing this election?
>>
>>68678567

That would kill the party.

The last time there was a brokered convention it was between Reagan and Ford. Ford being a sitting President. If the GOP up and says "Fuck You" to the voters and pull some asshole out of some list approved by leftist consultants and old media, the party is done. Hillary will win and the so called opposition party will disentergrate overnight.

He rubs me the wrong way, he gives off that stuckup rich elitist vibe
Donald is richer than Mitt but gives off more of a casino owner vibe, which is infinitely more likable.

We will never betray our Emperor.

I swear I'll vote third party if they do this.
>>
>not currently running

So the insider Ryanfag was telling the truth?
>>
So is the RNC going to change the rules? There is a rule currently where you must have won at least 8 states to be nominated during a contested election.
>>

>what say you?
sign the petition www.notrumpnovote.org and share it. Cuck the establishment. If we get Sweden to use an American IP and sign, it would be the first time Sweden cucked someone else for a change

>>68678567
No one likes losers. Trump would understand.

it's a republic

we don't pick our presidential candidates, government does

HOWEVER, the party will shoot themselves in the foot if they don't nominate someone with a clear majority

At the 1880 Republican National Convention, Senator-elect Garfield attended as campaign manager for Secretary of the Treasury John Sherman, and gave the presidential nomination speech for him.

When neither Sherman nor his rivals – Ulysses S. Grant and James G. Blaine – could get enough votes to secure the nomination, delegates chose Garfield as a compromise on the 36th ballot. In the 1880 presidential election, Garfield conducted a low-key front porch campaign, and narrowly defeated Democrat Winfield Scott Hancock.

Yes. It has. John Adams won through a brokered convention.

>The Republican establishment will do everything in their power to ensure that Trump does not get the delegates needed to win the nomination
>At a brokered convention both Cruz and Trump will be cast aside for Mitt Romney
>Media will throw out all kind of excuses for this, saying rules are rules and they exist for a reason
>Trump supporters will get so angry about being fucked that they don't vote
>Mitt loses to Hillary, establishment doesn't care.
