Hillary is a lot more incompetent than most people give her credit. I think Cruz is a slimey fuck but he would legitimately mop the floor with her during debates. You can watch the 2008 Obama vs. Clinton debates to see how bad she is at handling pressure, and she hasn't gotten much better in the last eight years. If she ends up choking, coughing, or leaving to use the restroom in a Trump vs. Clinton debate, it's ogre.
Their earlier skirmishes were also pretty Trump-favored. When Clinton tried to pull the sexist card, Trump blew up about Bill and that effectively shut them up. Their later "Trump was in an ISIS recruitment video!" attempt also backfired (wasn't made by ISIS, was recycled footage narrated by a dead man, and most hilariously - Bill was actually shown in a real ISIS recruitment video). After all this, Clinton said "I'm just going to ignore Trump and work on the campaign."
Meanwhile, Bernie continues to attack Trump despite the fact that Trump has (largely) ignored him. On the surface, the system of things looks like this:
Attacking Trump has been a net gain for Bernie.
Attacking Trump has been a net loss for Clinton.
Attacking Bernie has been a net loss for Trump.
Attacking Clinton has been a net gain for Trump.
There's tons of factors that I'm leaving out that will weigh heavily between now and the general that are both affecting this, and could change up the game heavily in the future. How the convention is handled in June for both parties will also be a major issue. But so far, Trump seems to do well vs. Hillary. All I can say that is no matter how favored he might be nothing will top the stumping he gave Jeb! (Unless she does actually walk out mid-debate to take a shit).
