They were always SJW. Anonymous was the group that broke off of 4chan because they were butthurt that the general 4chan population wouldn't be their personal army attacking everything they deemed unfair or wrong. So they all got together outside of 4chan with their SJW ideals and basically stole the image of 4chan for their own.
