Ted Cruz must win 85% of remaining delegates. Holy fucking shit. Stop fucking worrying about the general, this isn't the general. We need to take the primary first.

It's not about backing the winning team, it's about voting for the right candidate.

People said Trump's campaign was a complete nonstarter last fucking JULY. You're believing polls who said it would be Jeb vs Shillary by this point. Listen, the bottles under the sink taste REALLY good, go drink them!

Responded to this thread 4 times today

Romney and McCain outpolled Obama. Gore and Bush went up and down over each other constantly.

In almost all of these you can see that the underdog in March comes out on top.

Here's what we have: The media has talked and talked about Donald Trump. It never ends. They never talk about Hillary. But Trump has been hit by both republicans and democrats with random stuff every single day without end. If there's anything Hillary can say about Trump, it has already been said a million times and everyone has already heard it. Trump cannot get any lower in the polls than he is right now, he can only go up.

Hillary has been out of the spotlight. People only know her by name. They don't know her accomplishments or any of her policies, half of her voters probably haven't even heard her in the debates. The best part is that they're convinced she's something else. Hillary fervently supported the Iraq War then destabilized Libya and pressured Obama to kill Gaddafi, making her one of the biggest reasons for the rise of ISIS. Trump has infinite ammo against her, and it will be new and fresh. If she can't get to at least 70% in the polls, she's fucked, because she has nowhere to do but down.

Trump cannot go any lower, Hillary cannot go any higher. There's not a chance they will stay where they are.

>>
>9 fucking months before election

romney was beating obama in the polls. bush was losing in the polls. and not just by a tiny margin either (10%+) neither side have started their main campaigns yet.

and of course bernie is leading so much, hes never going to be the democratic nominee so nobody has attacked him yet. if he was winning instead of hillary they'd throw so much of his commie past on television he would lose to trump so hard it would make reagan jealous.

They're not actively campaigning against one another though. This poll is irrelevant. Support for any of the candidates may go up or down depending on what their opponent(s) are saying. Hillary, for example, may be ineligible for office if she's indicted and charged. People may not vote for her once that starts getting broadcasted in the media. Bernie is a Jew who wants to tax the middle class even further into the hole. This may sway the middle class parents of his voting base.

His unfavorability rating with republicans cut by 2/3 throughout 2015. These things aren't stuck in one place for eternity.

He can still win even with a 70% unfavorability rating, isn't it even lower than that? With voter turnout and democrat apathy it would be a breeze at his current unfavorability rating. Imagine what it will be like when the rating inevitably improves even more. Hillary polls similar to Trump in unfavorability as well, the difference is Hillary has negligible favorability with republicans while Trump takes some from both sides. No republicans will switch party, they'll just stay home. But some democrats will switch party, and even more will stay home.

All Hillary has to do is talk about gay marriage and abortion. Nothing else would matter. Cruz would lose in a terrible landslide and probably cost the republicans any chance of ever winning again. They'd lose the senate and fade into irrelevance, this fuck's policies would be conservative 100 years ago.
>>

You can't actually believe that? Non-republicans hate trump with a passion, more than any politician I've ever seen. There will be record turnouts to vote against Trump. People who have never voted before will go vote just to oppose Trump. Whereas with an actual conservative like Cruz that intense backlash isn't there. Hillary has a 99% name recognition with only 11% saying they don't know enough about her to make a decision.

You can bet that Trump's name recognition is high 80s at least.

The whole "hurrr things change he can pull back a 10 point deficit" only applies when you have someone relative unknown (less than 50% name recognition) by the rest of the population other than their own state (bill vs hw) vs. someone really well known (e.g. a sitting president).

Everyone has heard of Clinton and everyone has heard of Trump. There's not much they can do to move their needles.

The problem with polling presidential campaigns now is that so much has changed over the last few decades. An election from the 1940s is going to have little in common with an election in 2016. For meaningful data, you would really have to limit it to the modern age. For accurate data, you would have to limit it to the internet age, which has transformed how we consume information. With this, can only really go back to President Obama's two elections. You only have to look at the fact that Political Analysts all agreed that Trump could not win the Republican nomination and would likely drop off after a few months. They simply haven't got a fucking clue what they are talking about and this modern election can go in any direction.

The superdelegates are more or less meaningless in a two person race. They mostly exist to stop a split vote and ensure solidarity behind the leading candidate. If Bernie was to go ahead with the pledged delegates, then the superdelegates would swap sides. Otherwise they raise questions about the legitimacy of their candidate and risk their own power.

I never said Obama is Hitler. I'm merely stating the fact that he's deported more people than any other president in history.

Let's go through these one by one though:

1. Expanded health insurance
Yes, he gave a giant gift to the insurance industry, but also helped pass good things like disallowing insurance companies to deny coverage for prexisting conditions

2. Cut unemployment in half
Lots of people are not looking for jobs (no longer counted as "unemployed"), and lots of jobs people have they are overqualified for or dont have enough hours to support themselves - also doesnt count as unemployed

3. DOUBLING THE STOCK MARKET
The fed did this with quantitative easing - i.e. injecting tons of money into markets. Still unclear whether this is a bubble or a real benefit of that monetary policy that obama basically had no control over.

4. Got Bin Laden
Cool.

After seeing all the polls this year swing 12 percent between their projections and the actual vote I am not concerned at all by this. Primary races are always much different from general elections. Both candidates are taking more radical stances that will motivate the base to come out and vote for them during the primary. Not that I expect Trump to go back on most of his platform but the general election will see Trump putting on a much more presidential demeanor and when people see Hillary Clinton next to him on the debate stage acting like she is phoning in a job interview that she already has in the bag and dodging questions about her very illegal email server the American people won't have a difficult choice to make.

Um...Obama has increased the national deficit more than ALL the previous Presidents combined. His Failure of Obama care royally screwed millions of people. Actual unemployment is getting close to 40%.The unemployment HE is talking about are those actually ON unemployment, so he didn't help there either. And HE didn't get anybody, most likely Bin laden had already been dead for a bit..Kinda funny how both Sadam and Bin laden were "found" right around election time huh?

The American people are not voting for Bernie, the only reason he is getting any coverage at all is because he is the only candidate not euthanised by Hillary (yet).

As for Hillary, how can she expect to govern a country from a prison cell?
