Leftists consistently underestimate the cost of their programs and vastly overstate the tax income from their burden increases. It's basically nonsense; just like Obamacare. :^)
>>
>>68511200
He's already said how much it'll cost and how he'll pay for it. With all these savings, Bernie could even get rid of the federal debt.
>>
>waste 18 trillion
>save 18 trillion

and there's no fucking way medicare for all only costs 15 trillion dollars

You guys really can't refute this?

He saves 18.8 trillion. Also, an economist estimated Medicare costs to be 15 trillion.

Kek, none of you can deny the fact that Bernie OS the best choice

Any proposed savings by taxing X more always assumes that people won't change their behaviour - but they always do. If you start taxing X more, people will try to find ways to avoid X.

For example, if you put a tax on financial transactions on the NYSE... companies stop trading on those exchanges, they trade overseas instead etc.

College students will more than double and multiple extra colleges will need to be built to handle the excess load.
It's the first time I've seen a figure over 200 million for that though. Most of them think it's cheap.

Shhh, submit to sanders shilling and ignore the fact that Sander's tax proposals means everyone, top to bottom, ends up getting more taken out of their paycheck.

If a Sanders supporter does acknowledge that taxes go op slightly on a payroll deduction, they say that the fact that people don't have crushing student loan debt or need to buy healthcare means the middle class is far better off. Except:

>having the government pay the tab for college encourages professional students (get free shit, avoid entering the labor force). it also encourages students to study useless shit that doesn't pay well.
>having the government pay for college hides the true per person cost from the student, allowing private companies (e.g. textbook makers) to inflate the cost even more. schools will better be able to sneak in increases to support bloated administration salaries

>rich people will leave the country (one of the facebook cofounders did it under obama's tax rates, more still will do it under sanders tax rates)
>raising payroll taxes and minimum wage will result in employment cuts
>taxing stock/security trades impacts anyone with a retirement account, not just megabanks and wall street firms
>>
>>68516588
>College students will more than double and multiple extra colleges will need to be built to handle the excess load.

Either way, the colleges will get their money. They are for-profit institutions and with Bernie's plan they would be on the government dole. Not to mention that they would still be making money from their own infrastructure, because I don't think food and lodging fall under "free education." Otherwise the homeless will be checking in en masse to live in the dormitories.

So not only will colleges be getting tons of money from the government, they will also continue fleecing their students for delicious cash.
>>
>>68511086
Obamacare more expensive than healthcare for all? Umm what
>>
>>68517085
Most colleges are actually non-profit, public or private, but the key part is that a non-profit basically exists to further its own goals, but they don't have to spend a ton of money...but many do. Modern colleges are bloated with overpaid administrators. With the government footing the bill there won't be a big incentive to cut back. The opposite is true.

It also happens with charities all the time, sadly.

1: spending money you dont have to increase revenues through keynesian money gnome magic has been proven to fail.

2 : the US healthcare system is not 32 trillion dollars of federal funding. screwing up the medical system would NOT save that imaginary sum, because the federal got is not currently SPENDING that money. example: setting your neighbor's car on fire doesnt save you a dime on YOUR gasoline expenses.

3: more proff that marxists cant do math.

fuck bernie and his wacky schemes.
>>
>>68511642
he already said that leftists are shit at math.

Did Bernie consider the fact that hist socialist policies will alienate investment and cause a mass exodus of big money in the first 3 weeks of his presidency?

the economy will tank so hard he'll haveto build a wall around america just to keep people inside like in the good old warsaw pact
>>
>>68511086
Even if and only if Bernie would get elected president:
Wouldnt most of those bills be blocked by congress?
Iam not an expert on American politics but I have a hard time that just being president alone grants you the power to do everything you want.
Especially the tax subsidies for fossil fuel.
>>
I just checked the governments budget...did not see 32 trillion dollars in US healthcare expenses. Also how is stopping stock market volatility going to lead to 3.5 trillion? What the fuck?
>>

tl;dr 0.5% tax on all stock transactions
of course, when most retirement accounts are based on stock investments by large companies

http://taxfoundation.org/article/details-and-analysis-senator-bernie-sanders-s-tax-plan
>According to the Tax Foundation’s Taxes and Growth Model, Senator Bernie Sanders’s tax plan would reduce the economy’s size by 9.5 percent in the long run. The plan would lead to 4.3 percent lower wages, an 18.6 percent smaller capital stock, and 6.0 million fewer full-time equivalent jobs. The smaller economy results from higher marginal tax rates on capital and labor income.
>[...]
>If we account for the economic impact of the plan, it would end up raising $9.8 trillion over the next decade. The smaller economy would reduce wages and investment income, which would narrow the revenue gain from the income tax changes to $2.8 trillion and the revenue gain from the payroll tax changes to $7.0 trillion.

bernie's site says he estimates that medicare for all would be 1.38 trillion per year, (or 13.8T over a decade, less than the cost from the infograpahic in OP). 750 billion for college over a decade is laughable. 75 billion per year. Divide by 18.9 million students and you get a figure of $39,680 per student per year. This assumes the number of students remains exactly the same and that enrollment wouldn't increase because college became free.

sanders economics make zero sense
>>
>>68516657
I bet your dying to say..... So what do you do?
>>
>>68518634
some corporate loopholes are VERY suspicious.

back in the 80's VP george bush was invovled in a scheme to refurbish a 382 foot cruise ship and restore it to service between american ports

entirely coincidentally, that year's tax bill included and exemption for anyone who is restoring cruise vessel between 380 and 385 feet in length to service between US ports...

the tax laws are gargantuan and they are replete with examples of oddly specific tax exemptions.

ostrich ranchers can "depreciate" their ostriches every year.

clarinet students (and ONLY clarinet students...) can deduct the cost of clarinets and lessons, if they have a dental overbite...
>>
Note how when people actually began caring and replying to his shit troll thread he fucked off so he could laugh and pat himself on the back for getting (You)s and replies.

germans are not allowed to insinuate their cuckolded opinions into matters pertaining to US politics.

they can ask questions all they like, but their opinions have ZERO value.

hans' "question" was just a thinly veiled accusation that the US "subsidizes" oil companies.

and they do. for damned good reasons.

if oil companies go broke (thanks to crippling regulations and heavy taxation already applied) then the US economy (and the world economy) grinds to a halt.

installing a safety net for oil companies ensures that they can continue to deliver the shit we need, so you dont starve in your dilapidated shanty.

This

Also i wonder how Bernard plans to pay for the adoption of the whole nation of syria >>68519859
>>
>>68511086
You do realize these ridiculous taxes only gives rich people more of an incentive to leave the country or own assets out of the US. At this rate, you'll just end up with a drain of some of Americas most talented and successful individuals. This plan is unfeasible and with Bernie we'd end up with a 50k a year earner being in the top 10% of the country and you'll still call them priviledged and greedy yet tax them for more money.
