That wall idea will probably not work like advertised. I see it more like a way to gain votes by pandering to simple minds. Sure, it will stop a bunch of immigrants, but business will adapt.

The whole point of walls is to close down the freedom of choices a smuggler has.
Vehicles can be easily spotted on open water especially with today's technology.
