I was watching Dark 5's new video on Youtube and it said that China has ghost towns which are cities which are not inhabited by anyone and termed them "copycat" cities because it was modelled after the Eiffel Tower.
You know what I liked the guy until this vid. But obviously this guy didn't dig deep enough.
The so-called ghost cities are built ahead of time. When all the building is complete, then do people start to move in. Currently, most of these ghost cities already have been bought.
And I am so tired of people calling us Copycats. FYI, we are currently going through a period of accelerated transition, so yes, some we did copy. But we will start innovating soonn. And also, I didn't post this on Dark 5'svideo, but the architecture were not modeled off of France. They were completely uniqiue and this youtuber is a douchebag for saying that.
And for those of you wondering, I was actually at the ghost city pictured here.

Ghost cities exist to inflate China's GDP. This attracts more foreign investors and makes them look much better in the world economy, since a lot of economists are fucking morons who actually think raw GDP is an indicator of a sustainable economy. They don't really care if anybody moves into them.

Not really. Like OP said, ever since the early 00's China has been making a steady effort of moving some 600 million peasants from the country to cities. To prevent chaotic urbanization and further problems, they build the cities ahead of time.

That's what I wrote which is the truth. Dark 5 wrote some demeaning this about china and saying that we ripped off french design when we built our cities. Which is untrue. Perhaps for one city but the majority were not coycat design and I know this because I went back to china and saw the architectural design for myself.
