Women don't work as hard as men.
Equal pay for equal labour, bitches.

there I'm done. what do I win?

It depends on the job. The wage gap only exist in high corporate jobs.

Theres your answer.

Women cant negotiate
>>

>high corporate jobs

No, it only exists in areas where salary can be negotiated, in which case, it's irrelevant, because even a man can be paid less if he's not good at negotiating.

All these feminists work hourly wage jobs, and complain about a non-existent wage gap that, if it were real, wouldn't even apply to them in the first place.
>>
The wage gap has been thoroughly debunked, many times.
>>
>>68271017
Every time you control for some factor other than sexism, the wage gap shrinks.

If you include lots of factors, it shrinks to almost nothing.

You'll never be able to think of all the factors, so it will never shrink to zero. There's no way to empirically determine how much is due to sexism. But a priori, you can see that the idea that sexism is a big factor, doesn't make any sense.

There is one field of labour were women excel. Making easily 100X for the same labour as men. That field is prostitution.

This just shows where the real value of women lay.

All this systemic sexism against women in employment exists and yet none of them have capitalized on the absolute cakewalk that would be their court case due to the Equal Pay Act.
>>

Here is my problem with the wage gap:

If your argument is that 'women get paid less for the same work', it doesn't exist.

But overall, women do earn less than men. Here is why that sucks:

80% of spending on personal items is spent on women.

For every dollar spent on a woman, she only earned 77c of it. Not just the money she spends herself, but money spent on her.

Women also overwhelmingly make up welfare recipients, and men pay more in tax.

If a woman only earns 77c for every dollar she spends, it means a man had to earn a full dollar for every dollar he spends AND another 23c for the woman.

And since women make up 80% of personal spending (and just over half of big ticket items, like cars and houses) it means women ALSO take around 20% of the value the man's dollar.

So she contributes 77c and gets $1.20 of value for every dollar spent, and he earns $1.23 but gets only 80c of value.

This doesn't consider progressive taxation with men paying more from their higher paying jobs, and women receiving more in welfare and other benefits.

The wage gap exists but it's not a 'pay gap', it's an 'earning gap' and it overwhelmingly hurts men.
>>
>>68274153
I think the wage gap is the single biggest mistake that feminists have ever made.

Almost everything else that feminists say is so vague that you don't know what to make of it. But the things they say about the wage gap are literal lies, and you can see right through them if you are mathematically literate. Feminists talking about the wage gap is how I went from a male feminist to a /pol/ack.
>>
>>68271017
If minorities and women were paid less than their white male counterparts, no white man would ever be able to get a minimum wage job.
>>
>>68271017
Hasn't it already been debunked over and over again?

If you look at jobs in the same earning range, the pay is equal. The only reason it might differ in total, is because women seek lower paying jobs, like nursing or teaching (lower grades).
Not by force, by choice. They choose lower paying professions, because they are more interested in them.
>>
>>68271017
average of all men over their working life vs all women over their working life
gap came from men working longer hours overall as well as taking higher risk jobs that paid more
>>
>>68271017
Men and women are not the same. We have behaviors, emotions, values, morals. We are raised differently, and treated differently. Women are much more sheltered and pampered. Women are physically weaker than men as well.

All of these should point to the fact that women can and do turn out very different as adults than men.

Now with wages, employers pay employees what they're worth. Their worth is based on many factors.
Education
Work Record
Natural talent
Dedication to job
Ego, and desire to climb the ladder

The wage gap is true in the sense that women are paid less. It's false in that the reason for the wage gap isn't sexism against women from employers. The reason for the wage gap is women themselves.

Frankly, if the idea that women have all identical factors to men, and have an equal or superior quality to men and yet work for 20 cents less per dollar... If that is true, women would be highly desired in all areas of employment, and gender quotas that force companies to hire women wouldn't be needed.

Look at the STEM field where women dominate - veterinary science.

A nurturing job where they get to care for animals. It also is one of the lower paying STEM fields.

You are making this way too complicated.
Highly popular low demand jobs such as preschool teacher or secretary provide fairly low salaries. This jobs are predominately occupied by women.
Unpopular but highly demanded jobs such as offshore oil rigging, coal mining, or petroleum engineering provide very high salaries. These jobs are predominately occupied by men.
When you combine both of these facts, one will see that the average male has a higher salary than the average female. That is all. For a man and woman to be paid differently for the same job has been illegal since the 1930's and any half decent lawyer would love to sink his teeth into a case about a poor vulnerable woman being exploited by the evil male oppressors if she filed a case against such a thing occurring. The problem is it doesn't actually occur in reality.

There's nothing to debunk, it's a fact that *on average* women make ~77% of what men make *on average.*

The issue is that dipshit feminists, who don't know anything about statistics because they wasted the opportunity of going to college on a gender studies degree, don't understand that averages don't always tell the whole story.

Outside of some very elite niches like hollywood acting and professional athletes, women make the same money when working the same job for the same hours. A female web developer will be paid the same as a male web developer. A female lawyer will be paid the same as a male lawyer. A female doctor will be paid the same as a male doctor.

The issue is what jobs women actually wind up working. Feminists also get this part wrong too though. They assume that this means women don't go into the aforementioned professions as much. Truth is, women are dramatically outpacing men in both enrollment and graduation.

Where the issue really lies is in blue collar work. Women who go to college have the same opportunities that men who go to college do. But women who DON'T go to college often don't get the same opportunities their male peers do. Blue collar men can still make great livings in various skilled trades, or in higher risk occupations. What do blue collar women do? Run a cash register at a gas station? Work as a waitress, if they're lucky? That's where the gap represented by that "77%" figure comes from. This is really born out when you break those averages down by race. White women make 95% of what white men make on average. But black and hispanic women (who have far less opportunity to go to college) make more like 60% of what black and hispanic men make on average.

But people only want to funnel more women into law and med school. No one seems interested in getting high school girls interested in welding or auto mechanics though.
Because won't someone think of the poor oppressed upper middle class white girl whose parents paid tuition!?

>No one seems interested in getting high school girls interested in welding or auto mechanics though.
To be fair, there are programs out there for women to get into trades too. I had a couple women come from a pre-training program before they were hired at my company.

I think part of it is that almost no one these days wants to be in trades. Not even the men want to be in trades, they're told throughout school that they should be going to university and get a degree so they can make the big money. When in reality a skilled tradesman can make an extremely comfortable living.

Your analysis is spot on though. It is straight out and out illegal to pay a women a different than a man wage for the same job. If anyone found out that a company was doing so then they would not only be dragged through the media but they'd be slapped with so many penalties they'd never function again.
