We were on patrol one day 15 miles from N'Djamena the capital, barren landscape, lots of tribal areas with Arabs, saw young african boys maybe 14-15 being castrated by Arab slave owners which is not unusual in parts of Africa under Arab influence. I wanted to intervene and shoot those arab scum so bad, but protocol prevented me from doing so. I hate the UN now because of shit like that. I still utterly respect the Irish army and had we been there without UN guidelines and restrictions, we would have intervened in that castration session. Arabs are worse than niggers. Trust me.

US Navy.

Career.

Current in Connecticut doing boring office work.

Was in Japan, Guam, Cuba, Panama.

Best part about Cuba was no one cared what you did to detainees...at all. If you started beating one to death everyone looked the other way. CIA and MI5 operatives would often come and they always had thick black briefcases with AC outlets built into them. No idea what those boxes were. Every time they interrogated the lights would dim, a jet engine like sound and the loudest, deepest screams you'd imagine could come out of people.

I'd take a scooner out when those dudes were there and harpoon fish until I got yelled at to get back to my post.

I plan on returning to Japan for the duration of my active duty career then for the last few years go back to New York and recruit high school kids into the Navy.

Yes. MMN2/SS.

When you get to boot camp during your 2nd or 3rd week you'll be taken out of the general population and stuck in a room with 2 Master Chiefs who will pull your name out of a hat and assign you to be a Mechanic, Electrician, or Reactor Operator.

The school isn't hard unless you're dumb or lazy. You'll be locked in the Rickover building, and depending on how smart you are you'll have to do extra study hours after work.

It's not hard, just really, really gay. Do not get married. Do not sub vol. Never Again Volunteer Yourself.

Yes. Nine years in the RAF.
My last six years was on JHSU - joint helicopter support unit. Joint British Army and RAF. We did underslung loads on helicopters; mainly chinook and wessex, and were tasked with moving troops and equipment as fast as possible.
Most of it was within theatre of operation - tactical. Some was between theatres - strategic.
Loads of travelling. We could get to very inhospitable places and I remember some very unpleasant tasks.

My old unit has been renamed to RAF MAOT- mobile air operations teams.
The music in this vid is awful. I didn't make it, so apologies. But it shows the type of work I did.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dl9UZROP7kk

My service was years ago. I joined in '86 at the age of 18 and left in 1995.

>And what can I expect from the pipeline?

A school and Power school: Death by Powerpoint. A school you wear your NWUs, Powerschool you wear your NSUs. You wear your dress uniform every friday because of graduations.

Prototype: Self paced. Run around begging people for check outs. Standing watch on an old as fuck "boat" which breaks down every 2 weeks and extends your time in the pipeline.

>When you left boot camp for south Carolina how did you get there

They fly you do there in a commercial plane. You wear your blues and have all civilians kiss your ass and all the active/retired military snicker because they know you're Fresh as fuck.

>and what do the accommodations look like in charleston

If you're single you get a barracks room, which has a shower, sink, fridge/freezer, microwave, bunk bed, and a closet. It's like a college dorm except you gotta keep it clean.

1. Sounds gay but it could be worse other than your boat breaking down

>1. Sounds gay but it could be worse other than your boat breaking down

You're not the one fixing it, and I enjoyed the downtime, but I was also 20% ahead all the way through Prototype so I just left for the day.

The boat you're on will be a decom'd sub that was gutted and towed to Charleston to be used for training.

>2. I'm assuming that flight to charleston is pretty much immediately after graduation

I had my graduation at 8 in the morning, got to hand out with my then-girlfriend and mom for the night, got back at 10pm, and left for the Air Port at like 5 AM.

>3. I'm also assuming you have a roommate in your barracks, is it permitted to have beer in your room if you're 21+?

Yeah you'll have a room mate unless you get put in SkipJack or Nautilaus which are single rooms.

If your room mate is 21+ you may have alcohol (At least that's how it was 3 years ago, rules may have changed), but I always kept my shit in my car and would smuggle it in A&W bottles later.

Don't be a shit bag or a dumb ass and the pipeline will go smooth as silk for you.

Enjoy the pipeline as it's the only place in the military where you'll work set hours, and never on weekends, and you don't stand duty and you do it for 2 years.
>>
>>68266531

>>
>>68266716
Yep, but only ua citizens.
>>
>>68267471

100% true. Attrition rate is mainly due to people tapping (Quitting), alcohol, or being a piece of shit and getting kicked out.

For the 2 years I was there I think I saw less than 5 people actually FAIL out. The instructors there will bend over backwards to ensure you'll past because the instructors are generally sea returnee's and you're going to be relieving their buddies in the fleet.

was in mortar eating dirt and sitting in cold forest for 6mo. Mandatory here. 80% of adult male populance have been in army so going to civil service instead would be instacuck for rest of your life

Both in New York and Charleston (Where the 4 prototypes are) have active functioning nuclear reactors.

Prototype is USUALLY great, but I went through during the "Qual-pocolypse" so it kind of sucked for me.

But for Prototype...

For the first month you'll be put on "off crew" where you work standard time and get weekends off. Your goal is to get fucking check outs (Ask people for knowledge checks).

The remaining 5 months you'll be put in 1 of 4 crews working rotating shift work and your goal will also be to get check outs.

As long as you make your check out quota (Delta) nobody gives a shit about you and you get put on reduced hours.

Prototype is generally 12 hours a day. If you're not a shithead it's 10, if you are it's 16. Once you qualify (Which a retarded monkey can do) it's """"8""""".

Also you'll probably be put on hold for 4-6 months between power school and prototype.

Yeah there's a few holds for you.

Before A school class up you have a hold (Can't remember name).

Between A and P school there's T-Track which is about 1-7 weeks.

And because prototype is a fucking 50 year old boat, the hold is like 4-6 months. You'll get paid to essentially show up to muster, pretend to clean something for a few hours (Which you'll use to just bullshit with your friends) and told there's nothing to do so go home.

What makes you say that?

>>68269761

Because the other galleys require lower standards.

Every Friday in Charleston is Lobster and Steak day, and there's always a chicken bar every day.

The Galley is fucking God-tier in Charleston and I miss it everyday that I eat the slop my lazy CS's make.

It was actually fun and not like something you'd see in Full Metal Jacket where I'd get yelled the shit out of. It wasn't too special either, it was just like any other army, wake up, follow orders rinse and repeat. Apart from during the training, I never actually shot a bullet. There wasn't much to do, really.
I mostly used to be on patrol and I would get extra food since my job was more difficult (marenda), chocolate, cigarettes and some juice, since I didn't (and still don't) smoke, I would exchange a pack of cigarettes for other sweets and by the time I went back home I had so much candy I had a whole bag dedicated to it. Don't have really much to say, I actually found it enjoyable but there wasn't anything significant.

Some older people I know who served the army between 1979 and 1980 told me lots of much cooler stories, than mine, if you wanna hear them instead.
>>
>>68270263
I sure do.

>>
>>68261336
>75kg
does that qualify as man?
>>
>>68270843

Call them and ask them to come visit you. You can always fill out a special request chit if you want to have days off to visit them.

Once you get placed on liberty nobody gives a fuck what you do unless you get in trouble.
>>
>>68270446

>>68269057

How's liberty and leave work?
>>
>>68267583
you're cunts and you're going to loose the war, do you meditate on that fact during your day?
>>
>>68271278

Liberty is a general term used for hours outside of "Designed working hours."

In the military you get paid 24/7, but liberty is time where you don't work. Example: Your job is 0800 - 1500. Anytime outside of those hours is liberty.

HOWEVER, you can put a Chit (Request form) in for Special Liberty (< 3 days) or Leave (Which you automatically accumulate every month) which gets signed off by the CO granting you the ability to not show up to work that day.
>>
>>68271715
So if I wanted to take a trip somewhere I would fill that form out ahead of time and submit it to my CO for him to approve it. Is that possible to do while in the pipeline?
>>
>>68271942

It's possible to do, but it doesn't mean your CO won't be a dick and write "STFU fgt" on your chit and reject it.
>>
Did my service in the special forces as a cadet reserve officer. Went through some nice units and ended up an instructor for future reserves in the green berrets.
