When the vast majority of the refugees commit illegal acts like rape and murder, I think generalization is okay. Besides it doesn't matter even if they were law-abiding. If they came fleeing war, they need to go back once the war is over. I'll break down to simply why us atheists tend to left.
Firstly we must establish that the whole reason why we have atheism in the first place is because atheists rely on science, logic and reason to determine their worldview. We examine the evidence for religion and I find it lacking. Creationism is a bat shit retarded. The Bible is full of contradictions and scientific and historical faults. Jesus probably never existed. Etc. Etc. You know the drill. Now let's examine right wing idealogy taking into account this:
1) Right wingers don't believe in climate change. They literally a deny a scientific fact that is literally observable. this is even as bad as denying evolution.
2) We don't believe in a global Jewish conspiracy. this idea is also another batshit fantasy that is invented by the far right. They literally believe in the Illuminati tier conspiracy theory that Jews run the world and are behind all the bad things that happen. Do they have any evidence? Nothing susbstantial. And as a result of this shitty belief they deny historical facts such as the holocaust which is accepted by 99% of historians as a true event.
3) Abortion. Right wingers believe that a bunch of cells are a person and thus deserving of the same rights as a fucking woman. They think that woman should be forced to have kids because terminating a bunch of cells is murder to them.
4) The economy. Atheists tend to lean towards Keynesian economics because this is the most coherent and rational and evidence based school of economics. We believe that spending is good for the economy and this fact is attested by all the evidence.
5) Atheists tend to support welfare because we understand the fundamental fact that not everyone is born equal and there's less fortunate among us who were not lucky enough to be born into wealth who need our help. Funnily enough Christians don't support this. So much for all of Christ's teachings ey?
