I've thought about this pretty deeply before, I have about 6 friends, 4 of them are very close. Usually will be at least one hang out session per week where we get drunk or high, I'd like that we hung out more but I have no friends at my work or uni, these are my high school mates and we're all doing different stuff now.
I don't really mind, most people at uni or elsewhere I meet seem unbelievably boring and blue pilled, I've never actually met anyone new I even want to be close with, which is a bad or a good thing depending on perspective. I just like the metric fucktons of inside jokes and irony and how we can all just 100% be "off", I'd prefer that to having about 3 beers tops with some new faggot and talking about buying a jet ski.

A few close friends are all I really have. We email a lot and I visit or they visit. We hang out about once a month, usually crashing over so we spend a day or two together shooting and stuff.
Then my wife has friends, we hang out less but sometimes.
I miss the good old days when someone would come over and we'd play games or instruments and jam or just have a bonfire and grill stuff and watch movies/play airsoft/paintball war games.

Have 3 people I would consider my friends. I spend about one day a month with one of my friends.
Part of it is because I go college and have way too much work to get done and the one friend is the only one that lives in my town right now. The other reason I spend so little time is that I have low self esteem and anxiety and assume that my friend(s) don't enjoy being around me and at times stated that they don't like my company often.
