1) You are paid the amount your work is worth.
If you don't like how much your skills are worth, get better skills.
2) "Raise Minimum Wage" is an excuse for the government to enact laws that will make it impossible for small businesses to operate. Creating a 15$ or more minimum wage will end up with many small businesses being shut down, layoffs in much larger businesses who instead replace menial labor with robots, and an INCREASED number of people reliant on government handouts. "Increased minimum wage" is a democratic trap to doom people to jobless lives where they must rely on the government for handouts.

Right now, the minimum wage is protecting corporations profits. There is no reason someone should be working 40 hours a week and still have wages that put them around 200% of FPL. What happens when this occurs, is that people who have full time jobs still have to be on federal assistance. This means that essentially, the taxpayer is subsidizing the employees wages for the company. If companies were forced to pay their employees a living wage and raise the price of their products to compensate, then at least consumers would have a choice whether or not they wanted to support that business.
True, those jobs were meant to be entry-level jobs. They were never meant to be career positions for head-of-households but thats where we are today so we can either pretend its not happening or take the necessary action to fix it. Regardless, I shouldnt have to pay more taxes so the dude who works full time at wal-mart can get his fucking food stamps.
If you are in a position where you have to rely on minimum wage to support a family then you shouldn't have had kids. It'd not impossible to work several minimum wage jobs while going to school and the graduating debt free.

last time one of these threads was made I actually compared cost of living vs minimum wage comparing now and 20 years ago, and minimum wage is only like 1-2% less relative to cost of living compared to mid '90s
Look closely at this official data and you will realize that minimum wage earners are less than 1% of the population, and most of them are 16-24 year old students working part time jobs

Because if you raise the minimum wage to 15, then the raises would have to be universal to the other jobs as well. So a job that paid used to pay 15 dollars would need to start paying their employees 22 dollars and 22 dollar jobs would start paying 33 dollars and so on. So this would mean that more money would have to circulate causing it to devalue and then the 15 dollar minimum wage would be saying that they now need 20 dollar minimum wage and so on.
