The reverse is probably more likely. Trump is unpopular as fuck but he can snag a small majority in enough states to get just 270 electoral votes.
Water would probably be running uphill, because that would literally never happen. Clinton will be getting the most popular votes for sure, but who gets the most electoral votes depends on the swing states.

Every state have a set number of electoral college electors, proportional to their population.
The outcome of the state election decides who those electors vote for in the electoral college.
Some states (if not most) are winner take all states so, imagine if in most states Hillary beats trump by 1 vote but in California Trump gets 100% of the votes.
Hillary would have won the electoral college (and the presidency) by a landslide despite having about 20 million fewer votes than Trump.
