What would happen if Clinton won the electoral college but Trump won the popular vote?
>>
>>68173343
Clinton would be president and Trump would be butthurt. The end.
>>
The reverse is probably more likely. Trump is unpopular as fuck but he can snag a small majority in enough states to get just 270 electoral votes.
>>
Water would probably be running uphill, because that would literally never happen. Clinton will be getting the most popular votes for sure, but who gets the most electoral votes depends on the swing states.

Rules are rules, we can either make a constitutional amendment before the next election to eliminate the electoral college in favor of plurality of popular votes or abide by it.
>>
>>68173343
Then dubs decide the winner

Yeah, enjoy a thousand years of government being chosen exclusively by the coastal areas.

Candidates would never need to make rallies, campaign or even visit the flyover states, NY and LA alone would be worth more than a hundred small states.

Imagine Trump winning all the states (with 100% of the votes) except Cali, Texas, Florida, NY, Illinois and Pennsylvania and still losing the election. Same problem, different math.
>>

It would force a reorganization of the Republican party around a non-nativist orientation.
>>

What's the difference between electoral college and popular vote?
Does winning electoral college mean you win more seats and popular vote mean you get more total votes?
>>
>>68174784
Yes. This isn't complicated.
>>
>>68174784
No, that would be a parlamentarist election.

Every state have a set number of electoral college electors, proportional to their population.

The outcome of the state election decides who those electors vote for in the electoral college.

Some states (if not most) are winner take all states so, imagine if in most states Hillary beats trump by 1 vote but in California Trump gets 100% of the votes.

Hillary would have won the electoral college (and the presidency) by a landslide despite having about 20 million fewer votes than Trump.
>>
An attempt at taking back our country through force that the left would use as an excuse to destroy the second amendment and put all white males in prison camps, ushering in their socialist multicultural utopia.

Bernie Sanders :^)

Republican turnout is going to be much much greater than dem turnout. Ops scenario is more likely
>>
Drumpf has no chance.

The democrats have the worst candidate in decades but luckily the republicans have the worst of all time.

It will be a landslide with a 60-40 win for Hillary. She will win Texas, Arkansas, all the swing states and the usual blue ones.

she'll loose all the swing states

Trumplets, everyone.
>>
>>68176524
He has to win 51% of the vote in a couple of states to win.
>>
>>68173343
He would make a movie called "The Convenient Truth" to raise immigration awareness.
>>
>>68174055
That wouldn't work because then you'd have a tyranny of the majority.

I would support a split electoral vote where the votes are given out proportionally.
>>
>>68177136
You're assuming that the Republican party is just going to fall in line and hand him all the red states. That remains to be seen. Trump is legitimately a threat to America and the world, and rational Republicans will stay home or vote third party.
