It was a complete farce. However, the prosecution should not have been so stupid as to let the defendant handle a piece of evidence like that.
Also the judge, Lance Iota, had a bone to pick with lead prosecutor Marcia Clark, and deliberately let Johnnie Cochran constantly interrupt her by screaming "OBJECTION" every five minutes, thus confusing people trying to listen to her. If any other judge had been there, Cochran would have been thrown out of the courtroom.

That was completely irrelevant to the trial because that cop in question, Mark Furhman, wasn't even at the original scene of the crime to arrest OJ. He became involved much later in the trial, but OJ's lawyer, Johnnie Cochran played it up like it was some "raycist cawp targeting a good boi dindu nuffin".
This whole trial was a gross failure of justice.
