Not illegal in Switzerland.

You can carry any knife you want unless it has a symmetrical blade of over a certain size.

>What are the odds that I'll get off easy if I just tell a cop I carry it for defense?

I would guess not good. It means you've stated explicitly that you intend to use it as a weapon. You need a license to carry weapons for self-defense. Yes, that exists here. Mostly applies to firearms, but the spirit of it would apply to knives as well.

Also, you should consider that SOP for police is to shoot you're behaving threateningly with a knife in hand. This is for good reason. A knife is a much more effective weapon that most people realize. Especially against firearms in close quarters, contrary to popular belief.

Europe does not have a distinct set of laws. Much like the US. When I was traveling around Europe doing that thing I do for the military, we looked into various knife laws just to be safe. In the vast majority of cases we discovered, pocket knives are viewed as weapons and not tools. Anything with any combination of the following was restricted in one way or another throughout Europe: locking blade, blade over 3", double/false edge, one handed opening, finger grips, knurling, hilt. Which of course eliminates about 95% of pocket knives on the market in the US. What we decided on was carrying Swiss Army knives. They met all the requirements and the red handle and cross is disarming.

It's for firearms, like I said. Rarely granted too. And there isn't one especially for knives. For use as weapons, they're basically only allowed as part of official uniforms. Otherwise, their only legal use is as tools, essentially.

An original Colt will, yeah. But not the European made ones that we have in abundance here. A few hundred to a thousand if you want one in decent condition.

But to be honest, I don't see the point of owning one for home defense. Like, just get a shotgun. All you need to do is take a week-long course.

exactly. Knives are better tools. Why would someone be banned from carrying around one of the most multi-purpose tools there is.

Can you at least carry a swiss army knife or leatherman
>>
>>68133743
>>68134628

Just get a 12-gauge you retard. It's by far the easiest gun to get if you get it on a hunter's license and it's cheap, easy to use and effective as a home defense weapon. And reliable and easy to maintain. Ammo is super cheap.

I recommend a Benelli.
>>
>>68137280
Yeah but that means I'll have to interact with people and I gotta put on this whole facade in order to nail the hunter's license test and make connections without the cops breathing down my neck and it's a whole ordeal, I'd rather just shell out for a black powder revolver right now and bada bing. Eventually I'm gonna start hunting and I'll deal with all that other bullshit then.
>>
>>68137190

It all boils down to intent. If you shank somebody at 0300, during a bar brawl the court will assume you had a criminal intent.

But if you need a knife for some legitimate purpose it's fine to have it on you. It's not really a big deal.

So was this, once.

Europe is not America and they organise their societies according to their own specific needs. Europe is a homogenous white society free of niggers, so self defence is not as big a concern as it is in the less-than-50%-white United States.

Well, Europe WAS all of that.

Expect to see a relaxation of gun laws in Europe in line with the influx of subhumans.
>>
>>68137462

As far as I know you still need a collector's license to have such guns.

Of all the licenses the hunting one is the easiest to get and the most permissive.
>>
>>68137151
Fair enough. I'll keep my eyes out just for shits and giggles. You're sure it was an actual Kinder Egg, right?
>>
>>68137190
You're not banned from carrying a knife, you're banned from carrying a weapon. At least here in Australia that's the case. If you're carrying around a sledgehammer getting ready to crack skulls that is as illegal as carrying a knife with intention to shank a bitch. If you're carrying around a sledgehammer with intention to bash in star pickets or something that's as lawful as carrying around a fuckoff huge machete because you're a butcher on the way to work.
>>
>>68137541
>Expect to see a relaxation of gun laws in Europe in line with the influx of subhumans.

Lel, the EU is trying to ban semi-automatic rifles now. Thus far, Sweden has said "FUCK NO", actually.

This has more to do with our inherent need for hunting weapons here, however. We literally need to hunt, or society gets affected very adversely. Like, thousands of people more would die every year in moose collisions alone, if we didn't shoot roughly a hundred thousand of them each year. This land is still pretty wild, mostly. And people love to do it, too.

Yeah, that guy is lying, you can carry knives around here without any problem, folders can't be openable with one hand and fixed knives can't have a longer blade than 12cm, if you stay within these you can carry whatever you want.
14 year old edgelord tier knives like balisongs are banned though, but normal knives aren't
>>
>>68131092

If its under 20cm or so...
As long its not an automatic opening one (can be spring assisted) or a balisong its all good. Back in the day those were so freaking easy to acquire here, but then the police really scared the chinese traders, now if you ask them if they have one they will all shit their pants and say no.

Most hunters aren't allowed to have more than 3 bullets loaded and if you're hunting birds you won't be allowed to load more than two or three cartridges.

That's retarded. It's much safer to hunt with semi-autos, and fully loaded magazines. Definitely from the perspective of animal safety and suffering, anyway. You're so much less likely to merely wound the animal.
>>
>>68138950

Front oppening kinda sucks, because if you put too much pressure in the blade you risk ruinning the spring. Also if it accidentally opens in your pocket it might go straight for your leg (when you run, etc).
>>
>>68131199
fucking kek
>>
>>68139173
The benchmade infidel uses a rubber band to propell the knife, not a spring, meaning there's no energy stored in the thing while it's in your pocket. You have to push the switch in order to tense the band, then once the switch is pushed far enough, it unlatches the knife to shoot it out. The rubber band also means it doesn't shoot out hard enough to penetrate flesh particularly deep, especially not with a layer of clothing on top. Lastly it has a safety mechanism which makes the knife only lock in a rigid place if it's been extended all the way. If it hits something as it's being propelled outwards it pretty much goes "limp".

It's actually a whole lot safer than you might think. Look up DAOTF (Dual Action Out The Front) if you're more interested in how the mechanism works.
>>
>>68131092
>Europe is a country durr

You can legally carry this in Poland (and anything smaller for that matter)
>>
>>68139571
Never mind I'm talking out of my ass slightly. It does use a spring, but again, it's not tensed in an inactive state and thus does not store any energy.
>>
>>68139150

Well unfortunately the animal rights faggots get what they want because most people are informed and naturally tend towards them because "muh animal suffering" so they keep getting insane shit passed.

>>
>>68139738

Funnily enough, the only thing I've seen them complain about here is that we've nearly hunted wolves to "extinction" here. They seem to get the need for hunting in general, regarding most animals. Of course, I could be completely wrong, and I just haven't been paying close enough attention.

Canada is basically the same. You can carry anything if it's a tool, but if it's a weapon then it's prohibited. Therefore it's all about context.

If you're carrying a folding knife on your belt you can easily say it's for work or general purpose use (eating an apple, whatever.) and 99.99% of the time you won't have a problem. I carry one clipped in my front pocket daily and have literally never been asked about it.

However if you carry a machete into a daycare or shopping mall, you're probably going to run into problems.

I didn't say shit about Australia because Australia is irrelevant on the world stage. I said Europe. And it is illegal since criminals would have guns/knives, but not normal citizens. Good luck fighting a guy with your bare hands as him and his fellow junkies come at you with knives or a gun.

The law is sitting there in literally plain black and white and you can see with your own eyes where it says, quote, "it is lawful for the person to use any such force... as is necessary for defence."

It is not "in effect" outlawed. It is absolutely lawful.

Then you'll probably get shot. Unless you've got a world record draw then you're fucked regardless, senpai.

But, for the record, most muggers don't have guns. You can look it up. Firearm crime rates are much lower here than in the USA.

Yep, and knives are considerably less dangerous. This is where you're gonna start kicking and screaming about "NO KNIVES ARE 100% AS EFFECTIVE AS GUNS" but emergency room survival rates don't back up your story. Fuck off.

This desu senpai. We can still eat normal Kinder chocolates without children's toys in them, while driving our massive pickup trucks and firing rifles in the air. We don't even have to worry about being raped by refugees. Feels pretty good to be American

it wholly depends on local law; I can carry any kind of single-edged blade in Slovenia

Italy and UK have banned locking folders, only slipjoints allowed there

you get the picture and if you plan on visiting, do your homework

In the UK, you're only allowed to carry around a folding knife that doesn't lock and has a blade length of under 3 inches. Anything other than that, you have to have 'a valid reason' for having it on you e.g. carrying a samurai sword back from weeb training. Saying that, the police seem to be able to be complete cunts and confiscate anything without any real reasoning. Here's a guy getting arrested by police for having a chainsaw despite having a valid reason for having it on him:

Totally legal, unless you behave like asshole when confronted with the police officers or swing knife against people when on alcohol/drugs.
