I hung out in a lot of independent coffee shops in Chicago's mecca hipster neighborhoods (Logan Square, Wicker Park) and what always struck me was how pale the hipsters were, especially women. Also most female hipsters I have seen are attractive. However they are very liberal in their political and economic views. They are a great force in gentrifying neighborhoods throughout the city.
Do hipsters exist outside of the US? If so how are they?

But as someone who lives in Richmond, I'd damn well be surrounded by hipsters than nogs. They complain that the area is gentrifying and don't realize they are doing it. They use daddies money to open up coffee shops and what not.
I have a fun story about my hipster neighbors.

They are reform-able to some degree.
It seems like most here on /pol/ have negative opinion on them however they are mostly white and hang around other whites. The older hipster neighborhood of Wicker Park is starting to be filled with little blonde kids of the hipster couples. I genuinely feel that hipsters to an extent are keeping their European ancestry traditions unlike wiggers.

I was born and raised in Ridgewood Queens NY but moved away after college. Coming back recently what was once a small Italian/Polish/Albanian area that was thriving with euro centric people and stores is now becoming a lifeless, sterile hipster town with the same shit coffee shops and organic markets. People who lived their whole lives there are now getting priced out. It blows me mind how tolerant and liberal these hipsters think they are but they completely destroy the culture of the place they migrate too.
Hipsters are basically adults who don't want to grow up. Thats it. For that reason alone they are pathetic. A lot of people died and fucked people to get YOU to be alive at this moment and to waste it acting like a fucking child is sad.

Some are fine, one of my best friends growing up had functioning hippie parents who were educated and successful but taught their son to be a stoner. I think he just finished a master's degree in urban design and he's looking for work.
I've known poor white kids that became hipsters when they left home for college though. I think it's tied heavily to their liberal identity. They jump from one liberal cause to another. They insist their narrative is correct with blind zeal even when you've shown their completely ignorant on a subject. Environmentalism, international politics, animal rights, immigration, socialism. I don't think they all even feel that way, there's this hegemony among them that they have to abide by the most liberal point of view and straying from it is unacceptable.
